Battlestar Galatica Season 3 - Gotta <3 War

Lee is a total and complete TOOL. I hate the stupid self righteous smug little smirk he always has when he arguing with the president or his daddy.
Not everything is so freakin’ black and white and I think he’s beginning to realize that he may have messed up after Baltar’s little “we are perfect” speech to his crazy lil cult.
The prez hit it on the head when she said if Balter fucked up so many lives when he had political power, imagine the shitstorm he’ll cause when he has religious fanatics following him.

yeah, yeah, I know they said the same thing about jesus and Christianity, but my god, if they go that route with Baltar, I will lose all kinds of respect for this show.

I’m not surprised with the female cylon being the first to show her Cylon roots. This chick’s morality isn’t exactly spotless when she had no problem with rigging the presidential election in season 2, so naturally, cold blooded murder is the next logical step. lol!

Overall, this episode was probably the weakest this season. Blah, blah, blah, enough whining already!

I want to see more of the Cylon civil war situation. Did any of the rebels survive? It’s only a matter of time before the Centurions start talking. I will weep with joy when the utter the first “by your command” line.

Yeah when the hell did they replace lee with some smug, jackass politician?

Oh wait that IS lee. WTF? Pretty out of character lately. Then again, so is everyone else.

sigh col.tigh…once a mighty & proud officer of the fleet…now a wussed out masochist getting his jollys off by being smacked by six. Why gawd why?!

Just this season? Like i said earlier, this was easily the worst BSG episode i’ve EVER seen.

I challenge anyone here to find me an previous episode that was just as bad or worse. I doubt one exists.

Did you watch Razor? I’m pretty sure they say it once in Razor, and it was awesome.

Also, some of the Starbuck/Lee romance episodes in Ep3 are still worse than that last episode imo.

Oh yeah, I saw Razor and I did get all giddy when the old school Cylons returned and said the line, but I’d like to see the new Centurions say it too.

Too bad Shaw got killed. she was a real bad ass, who was more than a match for Starbuck’s insanity… and hawter too

Uh, you guys, Lee has always been a tool. Why are you guys surprised?!? He backed the president in the first season when he thought his father was wrong. He defended Baltar because he believed he deserved a fair trial. And now he’s trying to keep Rosilin in check because he’s afraid she’ll become a dictator. He’s always been a “tool”.

I didn’t think the episode was all that exciting but it wasn’t a horrible episode. The point of the episode was to build on ideas and plotlines. I also think it makes sense that Tigh had a freak out and went to Six for some answers. Every single character on the show, after finding out they are a Cylon, has had a freak out. Some characters have bigger freak outs then others. And actually, just about every character on the show has had a freak out period. The show has always been emo.

best episode of the season sorry it didn’t have enough explosions for you guys to like it maybe go watch Cleopatra 2525 instead :tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup:

seriously though. this could quite possibly be the most important episode of the season/series.

HAHA! Cleopatra 2525! Ah, that brings back some memories. That theme song was the hotness!
I just wanna see Baltar and his followers drink the frackin’ kool aid already!

I would’ve elbowed that cylon chick in the throat if she kept crushing my balls like that.

whooooooooooaAAAAAAAAAAAH! in the yeeeeear Twenty Five, Twenty Five-

Cleopatra 2525 was completely underrated. i’d be watching it in college and my roommate would come in and be like “what the hell is that… turn that shit off… you’re weird, man…” he’ll never understand . i never got to finish it, which i guess was for the best because it got canceled:shake:. Jennifer Sky’s screams > all

and Baltar is completely pussy whipped. if that chick was doing that to me, after the tear gas cleared and everything was back to normal, i’d probably still be beating her ass.

At least it isn’t as bad as LOST where there are a handful of eps per season that are complete shit.

Still fucked up though, seeing Baltar get picked up like a marionette.

It’s not a matter of lack of action, its just the plotlines they focus on now aren’t as interesting. Before, the show was about them trying to survive, now its all about religion and shit. Fuck that.

wat…:shake:

Billy! :’(

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Dee is a whorebitch.

Are you disagreeing?

The entire focus of the Cylons last season was the struggle between annoying ass Xena and her messiah complex with the rest of the Cylons. Baltar sold out and became a preacher instead of a scientist, and the main struggle for the humans is whether they should follow Starbuck, who is going on nothing but faith, or listen to the president, who has been making decisions on stupid visions since the beginning. The only character who is never grating to me anymore is the admiral. It just annoys me how they downplay the importance of reason in the face of faith on this show. The show has just gotten a bit too self important since season 3 imo. I still enjoy it more than most shows though.

There has always been a mystical undertow to the show. Hopefully it being more in the forefront, for at least this section of the first part of the season, will help make sense of it. Anyways, I loved the episode quite a bit of foreshadowing and set up.

…you’re *killing *me, Smalls! :shake:

i’ll reply when i can order my thoughts better. as for now, Deathsythe has the right idea. i’ll elaborate soon.

Like others have mentioned, faith and religion have been big themes in the show. A lot of pivotal moments revolve around characters following their “faith”. One of the more interesting conflicts actually revolved around Starbuck’s anger towards Rosilin because Rosilin did not believe that Starbuck could lead them to earth. Kara was especially angry because she had faith in the president’s idea to retrieve the Arrow of Athena in season 1. She feels betrayed because Rosilin doesn’t share that same faith in Starbuck.

The whole “one true god” versus “ancient gods” idea has been building up since the start. Baltar’s transformation into some Christ-like leader is not surprising at all. You could see it as far back as his trial in Season 3. The man has become some sort of Bizzaro-Christ in that he has sinned the most of all the humans but maybe the one to redeem everyone at the same time.

It’s not that I dislike them dealing with religion, its that they approach it in a very preachy manner. There may be confusion about who is right or wrong (humans/Cylons), but one thing is true: faith trumps reason.

Baltar has been following this sort of redemption path, yet he has continued to womanize, he’s just abandoned science and reason. Is that the true evil of his nature? His lack of faith?

In the episode where Starbuck first returned, she had an argument over her gut feelings on where earth was, and someone brought up that Baltars calculations took months, to which she contends that her intuitions are different, implying they should have more credibility. Don’t believe silly calculations, believe a drunkards intuition!

I mean, you can handle religion and its effects on their society, or the identity of the Cylons, but its building up to be the end all solution to their problems, and if the resolution to this show is some mythological bullshit, I’ll consider it a cop out.

Holy frakkkkkkkkkkk.

Reactions to tonight’s episode?

I find it interesting that the four “new” Cylons keep developing in different ways. I was surprised that Tyrol took Baltar’s hand. I forgot that Tory didn’t get in trouble for killing Cally but now it looks like she’s not gonna be off the hook. I liked Starbuck’s memorial speech. Baltar’s messiah identity keeps rising.

Overall it was another “build up” episode.

How will they find Earth? lol.
