Upgraded the shit out of my PC, and have the limited edition pre-ordered. I was really excited about the unlocks until I realized it was just the 1911, Tracer pistol, a SMG, and three vehicle specializations. I want ceramic body armor goddammit.

Yeah, I just saw the PC features. I’m definitely impressed with the looks of that settings menu. The comprehensive list of resolutions, lighting effects, DX11 support, etc. etc. the list just goes on and on.
The main thing I like is the new squad selection menu. It looks very similar to BF2 which (combined with their map design) was the entire reason why 64 player servers could be fun.
I was watching a vid featuring the tracer pistol which actually made me take another look at it. Does it kinda ‘seek’ slightly to metal surfaces being magnetic? Or does it fire just like anything else? I only fired it once or twice on the PS3 demo.
And HOLY FUCK the 1911 is a powerful handgun. What the fuck is the reasoning behind that? Surely they have other handguns that are sized for .45 or bigger.
I don’t know why anyone is using the default backround. It’s ugly as fuck. Don’t read my posts if you’re going to continue to use it.
The Tracer Dart Pistol is not magnetic. I don’t know where/how you would have go that. It does, however, have one thing (as of the demo/beta anywayz) on all other guns: no bullet drop. Laser-line to target. And it’s always a +30 points to whatever you tag (as long as you tagged it first)—which is priceless. I don’t use handguns because of that.

Loved the beta. Im trying to figure out what would give me a more significant performance increase though: C2D E8400 --> C2Q Q9550 or 8800GTS --> HD5850.

5850 would give you the most increase.
I have a quad core i7-9xx series and it doesn’t utilize all the cores too much while I have a GTX 260 and its constantly at 99% usage. The only time a quadcore will help is when there are a lot of players on screen at the same time (like a dozen or so).
What background/theme are you using? Because Im using the dark theme and the default text color is white, and your gay text color is also white (on my screen?) So why be a fucking dickhead to everyone else when you can just be normal like the rest of us.

My problem right now is that I’m reading that some X360 users have pirated copies of the game already, played through the entire campaign already, and I’ve even just read that some PS3 users have somehow obtained legit copies of the game a week and a half early from various GameStops (who no doubt should get fined) and are already playing as well.
(hence the leaked SP footage). Frik, I wanna play too!

Pirates are why we have to deal with EA’s 10$ campaign (which I totally agree with, maybe the first time I agreed with putting on-disc content on sale).
Oh well, they get to play the SP part of the game on console…not exactly jealous, myself.
I can care less for BC’s single player. Nothing about it interests me, I’d use the memory to make more multiplayer features but whatever.
Bad Company 2 i a CPU heavy game and I have tested the PC beta on several systems. That doesnt say much actually since live game will be better optimized than the beta, but in your case I agree with Sheng-Long. Upgrading from a 8800GTS to a HD5850 will give you a better perfomance boost than upgrading from a E8400 to Q9550. You should also consider overclocking your CPU since E8400 has got great OC potential.
