Played for a few hours…got to rank 2 and I’m up to the second Engineer rocket launcher in unlocks, pretty close to the Laser Scope.

Anyone else on PC having trouble staying connected? Yesterday in the middle of the game, My connection got cut and I also had trouble searching for a list of servers too. I searched for all the possible problems like installing punkbuster and putting a shortcut to desktop (these are what I read in the bad company 2 forum so far) and didn’t get a chance to do them yet.

I only played until 5 pm EST, then jumped back on around 11, didn’t really have any problems other than server browser being slow as fucking shit and the usual lag because of servers with no ping sort.
Other than that, no troubles staying connected.
For the non Steam-EA buyers, make sure you update your game.
Only had a chance to play SP for 30 mins last night. Couldn’t connect to servers/EA to try MP.

Yea, I’m old school. They required emails as usernames back then.
I’m guessing EA got overwhelmed with all the consoles connecting to each other. I had trouble around 9pm jumping from server to server. Called it quits at 12am.
I’m at Rank 13 or 14 and I’ve got all the Assault Rifles unlocked. THIS GAME IS AMAZING. I plan on putting out some videos reviewing the assault rifles. So far my favorite rifle is the AN94 (2-shot burst). It has the most damage and accuracy comes in close second when comparing to the M16.
The M16 has great stats and the damage is around the M4 but accuracy and rate of fire are the best because the three-shot burst can go pretty fast.
This game is a dream. Someone pinch me!

Why the FUCK do I have to unlock the med-pack as the medic? It isn’t that unlocking it is difficult, but it doesn’t make any sense.
I did the demo on the PS3 so those wouldn’t show up for me on the PC first place, but…
The DICE game browsers have always relied on servers sending your stats back to a master server to show them what your total rank is. Because of this (and the fact that some servers send out info every 2 minutes whereas some do it only twice a day) you’ll often have to wait a bit before your ‘real’ stats show up on your character page. It never said I was over Private I yesterday even though I got to the Specialist rank. Today it’s showing up just fine because I haven’t played much yet.
What I’m wondering is why they make medics unlock both the med-pack AND the defibrillator. They’re literally nothing more than a couple of grenades, a LMG, a sidearm, and a combat knife at the start. At least the Engineer starts off with the RPG-7 AT.
Are they any servers where they disallow noob tubing? Most of my servers are filled with people who don’t know how to get points with any class other than Recon or noob tube Assault.

@Spooty - I noticed that, a lot of the starting gadgets say they need to be unlocked but it looks like you can use em from the jump. They don’t show up on the loadout screen either.
