Emp
I agree with auto-demon. I posted, more or less, the same thing he just posted, but on the EVO thread a while back, and removed the post when triforce contacted me via private message. We chalked it up to a misunderstanding. Looking back, that’s hardly the case.
EMP doesn’t do anything for their members. If so, then why am I always driving EMP guys, and getting phone calls from EMP players to go to events out of state or whenever they need a car. I invited EMP guys to my crib for sessions etc. and they don’t have enough money for food so I spot them because they’re my boys, not because they’re EMP gamers, although I respect their skills. When triforce says his boys are hungry, hes means it, literally.
CF - before the game came out was the shit. 40+ people, packed into that sweat shop looking arcade waiting 30 minutes for their next fight and exchanging tips in the mean time. I made a lot of good friends, some great friends, and this got me into fighting games competitively. Before this I was pro at RTS games so I appreciate skill in any game, regardless of genre. That died hard when the arc came through. It consolidated the top players and stifled growth. I know top players, so it doesnt affect me, but not everyone is as lucky as I am. I mentioned this in that thread earlier so I’ll not go any further.
I went with Sabin to Canada for an event and he’s an EMP guy. There was no hookup for gas, entrance, rides, lodging etc. We got that money back by phoney matching in the hotel with some Montral guys. Wheres the managing on that one? Art could have used a manager as he won the event, and there was a bonus prize of a custom stick, but he got screwed out of it because the vendor wanted it to be for Canadians only. So the 2nd place guy took the stick. A manager who could negotiate would have helped (hey, Ill give you a shout out on the emp site with a link to your products if you let my boy keep your product etc. etc. would have sufficed).
I’ve never been to the arc, I’ve been invited, but after I heard a few people got mugged coming / going I decided it was better that I keep my lily white ass away from there. My “arc” is Sabin’s crib and my own crib. It’s closer, safer, top dudes and no B.S. drama.
Everyone keeps referring to triforce as a manager, but the only thing he’s managed to do is destroy my desire to play sf4 and go to CF. What scares me most is he fills his kids heads with delusions of grandeur and creates a dependency / mind control that you usually see with people who are the victims of domestic violence. Like, Ill point out blatant flaws to EMP peeps and they defend him whole heartedly, while I spot them on an omelet because they dont have the cash. Kids that should be finishing up their schooling and looking for gainful employment are fed lies about how they can continue living like children while having an adult life style, if and when this game picks up. Theyll be stars just like Justin. Justin is not the rule, hes the exception to the rule. Like everyone knows who tony hawk is, but no one cares about other skaters. Everyone knows who tiger woods is, but no one cares about other golfers. Everyone knows who kobaichi (sp?) is Nathans hot dog eating contest winner but no one knows the guy who came in 2nd. When I say no one I mean the general public aka consumers aka people with money. When it comes to niche esoteric communities only the top dog stands out. And to reiterate what cage said, when they see that the poster child is sitting next to triforce, the American public isnt ready for that type of character and the poster child will be ignored.
