Gachi is sort of like Parry and sort of not. For one, it’s on a button, and there is a wiff animation. Second, if you press forward + Gachi you get the Gachi Drive, which is like a parry followed up by a counter attack (think Melty Blood’s 214D attacks or how Akatsuki parries work against Physical hits). The downside to Gachi Drive is that it’s somewhat slow (so it can be blocked or gachied in some cases) and it isn’t invincible, so you can’t go through multi-hit attacks with it. The upside is that you get some crazy combos off it.
The high Gachi drive wall bounces and you get special juggles during this time. The low Gachi drive staggers and gives you extra ground combo options (you can gattling cancel like GG, like doing LP LK HP HK Special).
Yep just tried it out, got pummeled by the CPU on very hard lol…
Playing the good Japanese players online would be a nightmare i imagine heh
Lag won’t probably be a big issue for me since i live in Singapore, its pretty close to Japan. Timezone wise we are only 1 hour behind, so i guess it will be easy for me to find matches whenever i want
Can anyone with the PS3 version tell me how many players total there on the overall ranked list? I love this game; got in on 360 and while there’s plenty of players (548 last time I checked), I’d like to double dip and get the PS3 version too if there’s enough people with it. I was told the PS3 version has less than 200 people. :wtf:
Still waiting on my version…
Some recently added youtube video, but I’m not convinced they’re from the ps3 version.

theres 293 people in overall ranked for the ps3. still gotta give it time since it came 4 days ago. more ppl are picking it up. someone should make battle fantasia thread in the online section.
I had some good games against ZeroethElement and Lilicachan(I think thats it) last night.
The PS3 rankings are up around 450 I think, so the match pool is slowly growing!
One problem that I’m having right now is that Japanese players seem to just pick Donvalve and rely on his priority to win out in laggy matches. I wish there was a way to play based on world region, oh well…
Not sure if this should be posted here but it is the only active Battle Fantasia thread I could find… Quick question.
For thouse playing on the PS3 are any of you using a converter? Im using one to hookup my hori to. I notice though that it is a pain for it the game to recognize DP, QCF, QCB etc moves… moves like A,B,C,D, Gachi, Grab all work perfectly and there is no lag. Its just these movements that lag. However, it does recognize them if they are done really slowly, but at that rate moves won’t combo in. Im just using some run of the mill psx/usb converter I would use for my computer. Does any one else have a similar problem or have success with a different converter? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
