Batman/Superman movie announced for 2016

Brolin too busy with Marvel making real movies

He can do that from home though :shake: he can still save us!

That’d be one hell of a resume. Being Thanos AND Batman.

Batman is a terrible role to have on your resume, kills more careers than bad guys.

The only misdirection is the script, not the cast.
This is still going to be a steaming pile of birdshit.

mind = blown

According to history, Superman is probably a little more unlucky of a role to have on your resume.

oh thats cold

Think about it tho, Kilmer and Keaton both tanked, Bale rode into the sunset to to count money/make the bullshit american hussle and Clooney became a homosexual. The only actor I can think of that actually benefited from the role was Adam West

LOL, this thread has been reaching so hard for so long, with so many people being so wrong. The only true fuckery is wonder woman imo so far, and they will probably do some nice hollywood magic with that, like they did with 300, and a lot of those fake muscles. lol

Niggas so mad that man of steel made almost 3/4’s of a billion dollars because it was dope, even with its problems, while marvel keeps shoveling out shit/avengers where all you care about is the hulk/overly hyped patriots surrounded by tons of plot nonsense people refuse to acknowledge, but oh well, explosions (meanwhile they criticize everything michael bay does. lol).

Niggas didnt learn from the man of steel thread. They just came here to be further wrong about stuff. lol. Fools asking why is superman so big in this movie. UHHHHH WUT, did you not watch the first one. He was huge without his suit on.

Saying Keaton tanked for playing Batman is like saying Jack Nicholson tanked for playing Joker. Dumb, wrong and silly.

^ And that’s why the actual movie is infact a musical

Well played Snyder, well played

Not really man, apart from both guys obviously in different stages in their careers, Keaton went from prominent leading man to bit parts and Nicholson was cruising just doing the same shit he was always doing at that stage plus he took a few oscars for some legit good movies. Whats Keaton done since Batman? His role in the other guys was pretty good…

He’s done bit parts in everything, kinda the thing you wanna do as an older actor. Always keeping at work, and doing voice overs and such. He’s busy with a family, kinda nice for an actor.

Birdman looks epic, too. I didn’t mind him in Robocop either.

Uh…what? Kilmer is the only one I could say that got absolutely nothing. Keaton didn’t do a lot after, but as his Batman movies and roles did well he wasn’t exactly screwed. Clooney could survive a nuclear blast to his career if necessary, and obviously Bale just added it as another notch.

Being Batman won’t break a career unless your career wasn’t that good to begin with and your Batman sucked.

The general public knows shit as far as these characters are concerned because A) they have never read the original comics – they get their information from the live-action products which are generally the WORST presentations of these characters; not even 1% of the American public reads comic books; and B) there is a tendency among the general population to look down on animation even though that’s been the best arena for showcasing fantastic characters and has been the best showcase for authentic/true-to-the-roots depictions of superheroes for a near-quarter century now!
There’s a stifling public view (supported by the US animation industry execs and MANY amongst that creative community who should know better) that animation is ‘gross-out humor’ (Fox/Dreamworks TV shows and movies), princess stories (Disney), or ‘feel-good’ buddy movies (Disney/Pixar). The superhero stuff is tie-in to the live-action product… it hasn’t been otherwise even at the height of the popularity of the Batman animated series in the 1990s.
Live-action is arguably the worst way to show these characters and there’ll always be compromises made because of the filmmakers’ tendency to ‘more real’ and because the design work can’t be as fantastic as the original comics because it ‘has to fit real people!’ It’s a futile exercise, really. It’s made worse by the fact that so many screenwriters want to reinvent the characters to fit their own visions and many times those visions are 180 degrees from the general intent of the comics! It’s only been in animation – with the vast majority of animation writers and producers in that field – that the characters have been respected. It’s a joke to say that Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, Christian Bale, Chris Nolan, or David Goyer give two shits about who the characters were… their films are Batman-in-name only!
The Bale Batman films felt more like James Bond with Bat-ears than real Batman films. Honestly, I hated those films even worse than what Burton and Schumacher did with Batman in the 1990s and that’s saying something with ‘Bat Nipple-gate’ and the sleepwalking performances of both Val Kilmer and George Clooney…

I haven’t liked ANY of the live-action Batman movies aside from Adam West’s (which is close in tone to the late 1940s, 1950s, and early 1960s Batman comics). The only things that have survived well from the films were Danny Elfman’s scores (which featured one of the great hero themes of all time) and the Batmobile design from the first two films Tim Burton was involved in but otherwise it’s been crap. The 1990s Batman: TAS only happened because WB wanted a tie-in to the live-action films that started in 1989. Ironically, that spin-off ended up being WAY better than any of the live-action stuff before or since! The 1992-1995 Batman: TAS is close to perfect as a representation of the character that I’ve seen. I like it better than most of the 75 years of Bat comics!
The 1992 animated series struck the best balance between seriousness and humor. Since then, with few exceptions, the character’s generally been joyless and completely lacking in humor. He really has been more of a ‘freak’ and sociopath than a charismatic, compassionate crimefighter.

micheal keatons’ acting brightens my day

FlickeringMyth have written a review for the fake script that was leaked. Interesting to read that Lex is the only interesting character, and Batman fans will be pissed how little Batman you get in the film.

Kevin Smith needs to realise that the time of the View Askewniverse is well and truly over, his 15 mins are up and he needs to pick up his shit and get the fuck out of show business completely. I imagine RockB could write a better script, shit half you guys could.

Dont get me wrong I enjoyed this guys earlier work, when I was a kid, but his ideas for comic universes are ass, this chubby white bastard needs to go, stop with his inane podcasts and just become a forum troll like the rest of us.

Kevin Smith is fine (read Batman: Cacaphony).

He just needs to avoid Hollywood like the plague that it is.

Doomsday…
…sigh…

I LOVED him in Death of Superman. Since then, I just turn my head away at what has become of him. I don’t want him in a movie, similar to Bane in Batman & robin, it just won’t work right. If Doomsday isn’t curb stomping ALL of JLA…I mean I still remember what he did to Booster Gold and Blue Beetle vividly, but without him seemingly killing all these heroes…it just won’t amount to much.

I need to track down a copy of superman 75…I cut mine up for a class project back in like 6th grade…I was an idiot - it was a first print.
