Batman/Superman movie announced for 2016

What Rock said.

She doesnt need to be ripped, but she needs to have an athletic build.

Good lord, YES. Animated films are usually easier to pull off a win with…if the parent company doesn’t let the animators fuck around with personalities and character design…looking at you, Marvel’s "vs The Hulk"duo. BTW, when will this baby hit the internet (I know, a month or more before the actual release on dvd, but do we have an estimate)?

What was wrong with the Marvel vs Hulk movies? I mean, I didn’t particularly care for the Thor one but I thought the Wolverine one was good.

But then again it had Deadpool in it so I might be biased as to the quality of the movie…

Wonder Woman is an Amazon. She’s not big because she has to be. She’s big because she’s a frickin’ Amazon.

I don’t think anyone(except sexless morons) is demanding a busty Wonder Woman. People just want an athletic, muscular, yet still feminine Diana who doesn’t look like she’ll fall over if you push her hard enough.

Wonder Woman can hang with Supes in a fight… Gal Gadot right now looks like Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman could bust her ass, and that’s not a good look for the Amazonian Princess.

Why do bigger muscles equate to being able to be super strong? In comics, especially as of late, it’s less about muscle for some characters (Superman, for example) and about their powers for their super strength. Wonder Woman can be super skinny and still strong if her powers come from her god-like side.

sthp. it will always be about the muscles when it comes to marvel and dc. even in this hyper realistic style comics is doing…the mainstream still hasnt strayed from big muscled capes.

I read this post and went back in time to answer it before you asked.

I refuse to scroll up.

funny cause when you load this page…you have to scroll down.

You want scrawny characters with super-strength? Go to Dc’s Supergirl, or anime and manga. That’s pretty much all you have available. American comics at least deal in SOME realism in superhero comics: super build = super strength, or more accurately: if a character has super strength they will have a build that lets you know they have at LEAST better-than-average strength…before they snatch up a Subaru and home-run swing someone with it. On the fantastic side, bullets still have fucked-up and inconsistent physics (the same gun throwing a bad guy backwards off their feet, while a non-invincible good guy who’s shot by surprise is able to stand in place, staring at the bloody hole that just appeared on their chest before collapsing in a heap) and cars still explode with the force of c4. Go figure.

Batman and Robin should look like this just to balance things out

Has that “skinny and frail = absurdly strong!” thing died or at least slowed down in anime/manga yet? I’ve only kept up with the major, famous ones, really. It’s something that got tiresome pretty fast, imo…mainly because of how predictable it became… 2 or 3 new villains show up on the scene…and you know that while the big buff guy is super strong, the little dude with the body frame of a 9 year old is most likely the one with true godlike strength/power that makes the big guy look like a chump in comparison. Aren’t anime/manga fans getting tired of how predictable that has become?

*y’know…maybe the people behind this Wonder Woman casting decision may have grown up with that sort of thing…? Or it may just be Hollywood’s general notion of what is supposed to be “hot” taking priority over any kind of character accuracy.

The latter. All day. The entertainment industry in general has an extremely narrow view of what people are supposed to look like. Just ask Paul Dini or Dwayne McDuffie.

lemme get my ouji board

Please do.

Jerry Seinfeld did an Ask Me Anything on Reddit. (Here, if anyone’s interested.) Seinfeld is famously a Superman fan. Here’s what he had to say on the subject:

Pure speculation but if WB goes through with this, they can go fuck themselves.

This just in: Batman will also be a Kryptonian, thanks to genetic engineering or something, and Lex Luthor will also be Kryptonian, because just why the fuck not.
