From what I’m hearing, the ultimate cut of BVS is way better than the theatrical cut. It also sounds like it was WB and not Snyder who didn’t want the 3 hour cute of the film. I wish I could have seen it last night when it was in select theaters.
I’m fucking stoked for the Ultimate Edition. I bought the digital version to watch tonight because I can’t wait until July 19th to watch the physical copy I also ordered.
I’ve seen the Ultimate Cut. It’s a much better film. I owe Snyder an apology. WTF was DC thinking with the theatrical cut. The film still has issues, mostly third act stuff, but I liked this version of the movie. Despite being a half hour longer, it seemed shorter. The editing was far better, the movie flowed much better, the Ultimate Cut shows Clark Kent/Superman and Lex in a better light. I still don’t care for Eisenberg as Lex but in this cut he’s more fleshed out.
Sweet! I just ordered both sets of the collector’s edition too!
Edit: Oh snap! They have it available for 4K, too! I’m gonna go ahead and buy that so that as soon as I get my Xbox One S I’ll be able to watch it. Score!
They had a chance to really go places after Man of Steel and show us a Superman trying to win the trust of humanity after the disaster porn finale.
What did we get instead? Super-murderer Space Jesus getting into petty arguments with a nut dressed as a Bat while getting played by the Ridder disguised as Lex Luthor, who then dies before he can have any real character development.
Hey I’m just being honest. In the theatre cut, the negatives far out weighed the positives. In the Ultimate Cut, a lot of my negatives from the Theatrical cut were diminished our eliminated.
