Nah it wasn’t a fat joke… Just an over/under of 2.5… And I would guess under cause the only ones going were you and your mom. Cause no one else would see that movie except you and moms always want to spend time with their kids, so she would be the only one willing to go.
This movie was suppose to open on the same day as Civil War. WB got cold feet and moved up the release date. Both films share the same basic premise. The comparisons were inevitable.
I’m still in a mild shock that a film where Batman fights Superman not only punked out on its release date because of a Captain America movie, but that that was a good decision. It would have gotten crushed. If you had to bet on that shit a few years ago, you’d pick Batman v Superman morning, noon, and night. Now it seems foolish to have even thought that.
What yall niggas talking about. Do you know of any comic movie where two different franchises competed on the same day? loool. People overstating the shit. WB set the date, seeing if marvel would call their bluff and actually make a movie, they announced cap 3, so they pushed the date earlier. They did that shit like 2 years ago. lool. Not like 3 months before the movie came out.
The worst possible thing to do for profit is compete with another mega franchise that has a 5 year head start. Batman vs superman still did like 300 million less than im sure they wanted, but its about to likely cap at around close to 900 million in theaters, and theyre already filming justice league right now.
Snyder is a lot of things, but the studio wont allow him to make certain mistakes again. Just like im sure captain america civil war is going to be greater than great, because they learned from some of that ridiculously shitty stuff from winter soldier. Plus 2 avengers movies under the belt to learn from too, because both of those were mediocre in hindsight.
