Word. Im just saying its much more kosher in that thread, and has been for years. Even though xmen has been the most egregious with their horrible plots. Like, there shouldnt even be a regularly updated thread, xmen movies are so bad, and wolverine movies. Yet, there everyone is, being a million times nicer about that big pile of shit, than they ever have with bvs.
People hated this before the trailer. Same with MoS. I just would like to know where all these anal superman fans come from, because they seem to come out of nowhere, and then line up to watch x men movies, with little to no complaints afterwards. lol
Critics jerked off to Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Most critics are fans of Marvel movies even though they know the formula down to a science. A couple of them hated this movie for not following the Marvel formula.
The X-Men movies aren’t made by Marvel, so it’s no skin off of Marvel’s back when they turn out to be horrible as fuck. Also, Fox was starting to make some passable stuff with First Class and Days of Future Past. The bar has been set so low for the X-Men projects. If MARVEL made a movie as bad as X3 or any Wolverine movie, there would be massive backlash ala BvS.
On the other hand, we’re talking about Batman and Superman, here, with a massive budget and the full backing of their owner. This is a first-party production. Sure, people were skeptical about Batfleck, but even now he’s being (rightly) praised as one of the true highlights of the film.
Even with their flaws, some of Fox’s movies are salvageable, plus aforementioned low expectations. BvS isn’t.
Yea I plan to watch Deadpool. Don’t have much interest in DoFP tho. And no that Wolverine movie where he’s in Japan fighting the Silver Samurai was dog shit.
To make it all worse, the fuckin Kryptonian computer is a piece of shit.
Let’s say for one minute that the computer acknowledges Lex Luthor as Zod using his fingerprints. Once Luthor brings Zod’s corpse to the pool, and both of them are now IN the pool, shouldn’t the computer be like “Oh, Zod is dead, so who is this other motherfucker in the pool? Analyzing DNA…IT’S A HUMAN! TERMINATE THIS ASSWIPE!”
The fact that the computer recognized Zod’s body and did NOTHING to question it was dumb as shit.
I disagree. Age of Ultron didn’t get a great rating because it was dismissed as formulaic and repetitive, same for Thor 2, and the first reviews of Ant-Man were akin to “too many Marvel movies already, we’re tired of superhero movies”.
Thankfully, Marvel movies usually keep afloat because of the care its put on every aspect of its production and the sheer entertainment they guarantee. Critics can despise the fact Marvel’s using the same old formula over and over, but they’ve never dismissed one as for being “boring”.
For real and that story was so fucking shit to. After all the hype for it, I was really disappointed when i read it like 5 years ago or so. Shit was so dumb.
NO IT DIDNT!!!. I literally booted up the movie to affirm what i knew to be true of this. Just to make sure. Since i havent watched it in a few weeks.
38:50 clark is about to get bopped by the robot. Lois wasnt even in the fucking ship until then. The fact that someone agreed with your wrong and dumb ass post, confirms how most of you dont know what the fuck youre talking about, ever.
Lois doesnt even walk in and encounter a robot until like a minute later, after clark already put in his usb.
Alright so after all the reviews and hate I finally decided to see the movie and here is what I think to anyone who cares.
Now normally I’m pretty hard on comic book movies cause as a comic book geek I’m always for faithful adaptations to the source material. I absolutely hate the x-films and most non-marvel studio comic book movies due to the insistence of diverging so far away from be source material. I wasn’t particularly fond of man of steel and didn’t really like the Nolan films outside the dark knight. In saying that I really wanted to hate this movie. I came into this expecting avengers 2 or iron man 3 and I gotta say, as much as I tried hating the movie I really enjoyed it and had a great time. The film is very much in the spirit of the dark knight returns and in fact comes off like a “what if the DCU took place in this universe.” I can understand why not everyone would like this and hey I’m right there with you, but this time I didn’t mind it as much and kind of thought it worked strangely enough.
To be clear I’m not saying the movie is flawless or even the best superhero movie of all time. I think it still has a number of flaws but it’s far from being this terrible piece of shit people are making it out to be. I actually think it’s a exceptionally good super hero movie and a great official start to the DCU. It’s not perfect but I think it does a good job, and again as much as I wanted to trash the movie I can’t. To summarize this review here is a quick list of the bad and the good.
Bad:
-Alex Luthor has moments of charm but I feel he’s a different character. He reminds me of arcade from avengers arena.
-Doomsday looked like a generic fantasy movie troll. He was evolving though so I suppose there is the potential he will look like himself in the next film.
-The story was trying to balance too balance to many elements and ultimately felt like it was juggling a lot. If they put the same effort towards a single character arc of story arc I think the next film could be amazing.
Good:
-Ben made a amazing batman and Bruce Wayne and I like him over bale.
-Wonderwoman worked and I liked gal in the role.
-I think the film had a lot of great shots and visually looked really good.
LOL WUT. Fantastic four 1 and 2. NO. X men 1 only gets a pass for the time it came out. It couldve easily been waaaaaaaaaaaay better in hindsight. X men 2 is passable. X3 as you said, is horrible. Wolverine origins is horrible. Wolverine 2 is fucking horrible. First class does the bare minimum to pass. Its forgettable, and not worth watching more than once. DOFP in hindsight has moments, but it just misses a lot. It an eh movie. Deadpool is perfect. Fantastic four 3 is the worst comic movie to exist in the multiverse.
Ok Jimmy. You got me. I just checked that scene myself and you’re right. The robot did attack Clark first, then it calmed down when he inserted the device Jonathan gave him from his ship.
