I get that but I’m not a fan of the oldschool Superman films. Didn’t like them as a kid either which would explain a lot.
Returns has problems and I’m not blind to them but I really like it. It’s not as strong as the original but it’s equally as memorable. Michelle Pfeifer IS still the best Cat Woman. The music is amazing, possibly Danny Elfman’s best score, it feels like an opera at times. Set design and direction is superb. I liked Devito as Penguin but I get others not liking the character. But I like his origin and what they did with his character. It definitely was cheesier then it should have been in more then a few scenes and the plot of the Penguin becoming the mayor felt really forced but despite the problems I still think it’s effective.
Were we watching the same movie? The repertoire of his moves usually just consists of wild haymaker swings and awkward looking kicks and this was after the redesign of the cowl that allowed his head more movement.
As for Affleck, I don’t feel any unadulterated hatred towards the guy, I just hope his batman voice isn’t as grating as Bale’s and he seriously needs to hit the gym because I don’t think he lifts, bro.
I am not excited, but not terrified either. The problem is the fact that people see it as Ben Affleck in a Batman suit not as an actor playing The World’s Greatest Detective. I think he can do the part as Bruce Wayne, but not really seeing it as Batman. However, never would have thought that Heath would have gone down as potentially one of the best villain portrayals of all time. It all matters in how he’s going to be portrayed in this movie. If he owns the role, and isn’t a clone of Bale’s there is a chance.
You didn’t know? Batman fans pioneered the “petition against casting choices we don’t like for shit that really doesn’t matter that much” way of life. For further reference, see 1989.
From what little could be made out in Begins, I remember a lot of elbows, knees, and grappling, which makes sense if your enemy doesn’t particularly feel like remaining at a respectable striking distance at all Times.
You mean like how Bale’s character had no life outside of the bat, which lead to Bale’s character literally staying in 1 side of his house for several years between the 2nd and 3rd films? Didn’t go out any make appearances, buy food, even have anything to do with his family’s business. At least Keatons character had a lift outside the bat. He was a detective, inventor, and a fighter. What did Bale do exactly? Have Fox do all of his inventing. No detective work at all, with crappy fight sequences.
