Batman/Superman movie announced for 2016

I guess I just like Reeves’ version.

Cavill’s actually a decent actor. He’s working with an awful director and script, though

I liked Routh.

Then he phoned it in Chuck and made the first half of Season 3 of Chuck so miserable he probably still hasn’t gotten over fan backlash for that shit.

Then he somewhat redeemed himself by being somewhat charmingly awkward in Arrow…then both him and Felicity took a nosedive and I haven’t watched Arrow since honestly. I haven’t even watched the last 5 episodes. Season 3 was so bad.

What the fuck is with Routh and Season 3?

He’s a secret Valve Employee. :coffee:

I liked Reeve’s Kent a lot more than Cavill’s.
But again… It’s probably because they told him to be Bruce minus the despair.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, Routh is good. He just has a habit of almost killing shows I actually like.

He’s like the male version of Summer Glau (who was also in Chuck, for one episode granted, but she was still there, and absolutely hilarious), except the shows he does survive, somehow.

In truth, it wasn’t his fault for either show. Chuck writers decided that going through the Chuck/Sarah relationship drama AGAIN was a good idea and thought trying to replace Bryce wholesale with Routh was also a good idea. They weren’t. When they made him a fullsale villain (though with terrible motivation for doing so) it was a lot better.

As for Arrow…I blame it ALL on Felicity! He got a lot better post-Felicity and even better during Legends…and then Kendra happened…

You know what? Just stop putting him in romances, it never fucking works.

I know that was dumb, especially after Barstow, I actually kinda liked him as the tragic villian. He was essentially Chuck (and later Sarah if Chuck died) if Sarah had actually died on him and they had a full blown relationship. And he dwelled on it for 5 years. And if it’s one thing Chuck can’t do it’s get out of his own head. But then motive decay happened and ruined a pretty deep character all things considered.
.
The fact he has no chemistry with any actress he has ever worked with just makes him one of the most bizarre actors I’ve ever seen. So long as he’s not in a romance he’s A-Ok with me though.

His dad did “try” get him to go down that road for his own safety.

That lesson sure took well

Ok bad comparison. All I want is a nerdier, more timid Clark that just isn’t Superman without his eyes narrowed.

I think both Clark and Supes characterization was on point according to the source material. Hell, I’d even say the Byrne’s 80s reboot had the movies as a guideline. IMO Clark should be played sorta like a parody of a man, in order to effectively hide his alien testosterone lol. I know it doesn’t “work” on today’s era but it makes more sense than just a glass removal thing.

I don’t really need a timid Clark.

I’d actually be more interested in seeing a confident intelligent Clark that knows how to be a reporter…or at least assume that role. Besides Clark in his reporter persona has never been timid, given that he only writes about the most difficult shit that could get him in trouble.

Which brings me to the general point of why Louis ever thought Clark was a coward in the first place. Usually when you see people run away from a catastrophe you’d think they were smart removing themselves from the situation…

Hence why I said “try” in quotations. Sort of like he was forcing himself to say it, even if he knew it was wrong. His kid over everyone else’s at the end of the day.

Best Martha representation I’ve seen in a while too. Wish we had more scenes like the school scene. That was some phenomenal acting and effects.

Diane Lane best Ma Kent.

I liked when she told Zod and crew to get off her farm, no fucks given.

too “young” for my taste. The Kents were already not young when they picked up Clark from the spaceship, by the time he is in his late 20s and moves to Metropolis they should look almost like grandpas. But I don’t mind Diane Lane, she had the homey touch.

This is out now?

Replace every usage of “Hilarious” with “Sad” and this article is spot on.

That one quote though- "In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel duke it out and the audience loses."

More Savage than Vandal!

That’s a stark contrast from what ordinary fans (read: not movie critics) are saying:

Seriously, fuck Rotten Tomatoes, they gave Lebowski only an 80% fresh, and it’s the greatest movie ever made. Also, Spotlight was decent, but not 96% good.

I think I’ll trust what people who go to the movies to enjoy movies have to say about it over a bunch of snobby fucking critics. The last good critic died three years ago.
