27,000 on my end, it doesn’t help your argument any.
It’s pointless to say anything at the movie at this point. Those who say anything positive are fanboys who can’t look past the glossy paint, and anyone who says anything negatives are Marvel dickriders who will never allow themselves to admit DC’s greatness.
So maybe you’re right. Only actual fans should stay in this thread, as debates are going to go nowhere anyway.
An old lady in my class was talking about seeing this movie with her kids and how excited she is to see it. She thinks its coming out in May but still. Plenty of casual people are eager to see this movie and I doubt it will be a financial failure.
as good as marvel movies are…superman and batman have this cultural status people arent comprehending. we have a fucking statue of superman in american…he is an absolute icon of america. the symbolism they both hold, it goes beyond a movie or comic series. Not many people could tell you the origin of iron man or the xmen but most non comic people can tell you the basics of batman or superman.
800 Million to break even, are we talking a $400 Million Budget?
I mean…I easily expected it to make its money back if nothing else but $800 Million is a LONG way to go.
The good news for DC is that they have 2 movies that have hit that mark, the last two of the Dark Knight trilogy. Overall only 6 (maybe slightly more, there’s a dead spot I’m missing in my listings)comic book movies have hit that level. Two of them aren’t of the greatest quality either (Iron Man 3/Spider Man 3) and basically pushed through on hype alone.
The hype SHOULD be enough to get it to break even, but it will require critics to not kill the movie. If BvS is even PASSABLE though, they should be fine.
movies…cartoon…comics. remember all those years of the fox spiderman of peter talkin to the gargoyle callin him bruce. dragon ball one of the greatest properties in history, really got good when they flipped the superman origin story.
