DC been making that kind of money with just one character. Marvel has made all their characters into headliners. I expect the sequel to Ant-Man to make more money than Suicide Squad and DC solo films post Justice League.
Saitsu is right. Iron Man 2 is a really bad Marvel movie. Completely forgetful and uneventful. Also, some random guys just came in here and kind of turned this discussion into a fanboy contest after Spiderman showed up. Don’t get me wrong, I like Marvel way more than I do DC, but DC has been making the effort to make a product that their fans can enjoy. I think the Dark Knight series is a bit overrated but I like the direction they were going for. The Man of Steel was above average. It had some issues but I thought the film was good.
See my problem with DC films that Marvel films don’t have is that the moment I finish watching a good Marvel film, I want to see it again immediately. I didn’t feel that way for any of the Dark Knight films or Man of Steel.

How am I lost? He said DC wanted “avenger money” when DC did that back in 2008. He just switched the goal posts to top 10 all time grossing films (even tho it took a whole team of heroes for them to do it) just to be right. All marvel fanboys do is look at sales figures to claim whats better when we all know marvel makes more popular movies cause of who they cater to. But hardcore fans know both avenger movies are not better movies than the dark knights. they arent even better than the 1990 TMNT lol

Hardcore fans of the Dark Knight movies like to think the movies are something that it isn’t. I read about those films transcend superhero movies and I roll my eyes. The movies is still about a rich white guy who deals with the trauma of his parents death by dressing up as a bat and beating people up. It doesn’t do anything different than any Superhero film before it. Only difference is it’s ashamed of being what it is. Still great movies though.

Actually, that’s my bad in regards to what I was trying to understand. I see what you mean, but was The Dark Knight truly “avengers” level in terms of overall success and impact? I know the movie drew in a lot of money but to say that DC was making Avengers money before Avengers came out? I don’t know. I also don’t agree in saying that Ironman 3 and Avengers 2 sucked. Iron Man 2 sucked. Daredevil sucked. Amazing Spiderman sucked. But those two movies? I don’t know.
Amazing Spiderman didnt suck, its better than ironman 3. Winter Soldier is the best marvel movie in that universe.

Notice the comparison you made. You talked about Ant-Man in the same vein as Wonder Woman. One of these characters is more popular than the other, and should’ve had a movie before the other one did. But they didn’t, WB had the two most popular characters (Bats and Supes) and stuck with just those two until Marvel put in some effort.

Maybe Wonder Woman will outdo the Ant-Man sequel, but that shouldn’t even be a question. It is though, and it’s one where Marvel are taking advantage of their 3rd/4th/5th rate characters where WB is just starting to put some effort into the biggest superhero icon for women. Now that’s a damn shame.
I really do hope that DC/WB makes some great movies, but let’s not act like they aren’t late to the game with all this stuff.
The Dark Knight is one of the most intelligent comic book movies i’ve ever seen. I think people who throw negs on it are dumb as fuck and just a bunch of campy nerds who likely watch movies alone.
