Compared to Supe’s scarecrow like performance yeh. We’ve seen more Batfleck in these teasers than we ever saw of Batista in all of Spectre’s, you remember how I reacted when you guys were saying how great he looked then.

I suppose I phrased it wrong…it’s not that he’s threatening Batman, it’s the way he threatens him. The dialogue between him and Batman so far (the car accident, Doomsday/Wonder Woman showing up), just seem’s so…out of character.

Why? Doomsdays Mythos is pretty shit. Also, he’s using Zod as the base, so they’ll pretty much just be making shit up for the movie version of Doomsday.

Doomsdays backstory isn’t all that grand compared to most.
Really wish they just kept him trapped at the end of time. Character served his purpose and should have just remained gone.
Well he’s a fellow Kryptonian, from pre-historic Krypton, at some point an entire planet had to take him on (creating the Radiant) and blow up most of their planet just to knock him out. Then he ended up beating the piss out of Darkseid, and killing his bride to be. He took on a Guardian of the Galaxy, and it needed to kill itself just to knock out Doomsday. That’s a hell of a lot better mythology than “Luthor fucked with his DNA” or whatever they’re going with.
Hell, a huge part of Doomsday’s mythology was killing Superman (or putting him in a healing coma), and now that seems to probably not be an option.
Maybe Rao will be included somehow? Or whoever it was who made Doomsday in the first place, I don’t remember if it was Rao or just some scientist working with primordial Krypton.
But yeah movie Doomsday is balls, the whole point of the character is that he becomes immune to whatever killed him, it’s what makes him dangerous. It seems pretty impossible that Luthor worked out how to give zombie-Doomsday this trait. None of Doomsday’s backstory will work without it.
No its not. The character is just generally pretty one sided. Using zod as a base cuts down the time and nonsense of out of nowhere explaining this creature made from killing babies light years away on ancient krypton, then murdering every powerful being in its path before RANDOMLY finding its way to earth to fuck shit up.
You think it would be better if they didnt use zod as a base, and just randomly stuffed in a doomsday back story of murdering babies one after another for decades, and then wala heres doomsday. Fight!. Using zod as the base makes a shit ton of sense.
Does this thread even use its brain first before typing. Are we really up in arms over the doomsday mythos? Did english words all of a sudden stop meaning what they mean. Zack explores the doomsday mythos in the movie, you know, dealing with a creature that can actually kill superman, dealing with a creature that is his insane, manmade ancestor in the comics, and how they can transfer that to the screen in a different way, giving doomsday more meaning or purpose than the creature has had before. Exploring the idea of what can happen when you go too far trying to play god, and end up creating a monster that will be your own demise.
Or, you know… Not use shitty Doomsday…

Or they could simply not explain what Doomsday is, and instead just show us. He is an crazy ass alien that wants to wreck everything. He juxtaposes Superman in that regard while further reinforcing the theme that the movie is trying to convey as a sequel to MoS. In MoS there was a McGuffin that could solve the movie’s conflict and in the end it was Superman against someone almost equal to him. In BvS, Supes could barely beat Doomsday in act one of the movie, the conflict leads Batman to become active again and the whole stupid shit between them happen, third act is a more powerful Doomsday that forces a team up of Supes/Bats and leads to Wonder Woman’s appearance to help finishing the job.
You get to keep the villain relatively comic accurate without having stupid shit as Zombie Zod being there.
Once they killed/exiled Doomsday, Martian Manhunter could reveal himself with some exposition on what just happened or some shit. Bam, JL movie setup done.
There would be zero reason to involve Luthor in this, the awful one we have right now.
