He scanned the building for any people working inside, but are you seriously going to suggest that toppling a 40+ story building into the dirt that recklessly would not have had pretty large collateral damage involving human lives? But your right, since marvel made it crumble nicely, and all debris fell straight down, and then landed softly. No i-beams shooting through a ground level coffee shop here, all perfect landings.
**Its easy to praise a scene in a movie that if we’re arguing semantics about body count, is completely unrealistic in portraying a fucking 40+ story building getting hammered into the dirt, and somehow not even denting a car driving right next to the demolition area. Unless you believe thats how basic physics works. lol. Just because the movie made it look like a clean controlled demolition, doesnt mean it shouldve been. **
I respect snyder for having the balls to mix it up, and show a green superman just hashing it out with zod throughout the city. He didnt waste time pandering to cry babies who want to see superman save people with his big strong arms, and give them a colgate smile while staring deeply into their eyes.
Sorry i couldnt save all of you citizens of metropolis. I was too busy stopping an alien terraform device that would have killed you all, and then fighting with one of my planets greatest warrirors who learned how to fly in 5 minutes after being pissed i killed all the kryptonians left. Ya, i ended up murking all of my entire species for you, but whatever, sorry for your buildings while fighting a guy that could eradicate the entire east coast in 30 minutes. lol
Joss whedon wouldnt have allowed that scene any other way anyways, as to avoid criticisms similar to man of steel, from irrational man children who only like their superheroes when they dont face real life consequences for their actions while ultimately still saving the majorities lives.
We talking about logic on superhero movies?
An alien invasion taking hostages. Gotta be the corniest shit ever made up for the sake of making Black Widow and Caps relevant
Nearly as bad as the scene the NYPD are fighting the aliens with handguns, if I were a policeman in that situation I would be full sirens blaring gtfo outta dodge. What was up with the hostage situation though? That barista was pretty hot but I dont think she had any insightful shit to tell Loki about.
I KNOW! I mean one minute, he tackles Zod effortlessly across half of Smallville, and later people are like ‘naa, there was simply no way for Superman to take that fight to somewhere safe’. Still gotta love them fighting into outer space, then back down to Earth, and landing back in Metropolis.
Sweet baby back ribs, I’m fucking dying here!!!
I always assumed the hostages were there either as something to lure the heroes with, or just cuz of the whole idea that:
Yes, I can take that leap of faith because they at least showed Tony run some scans. I am not that high and mighty that I need you to walk my hand through every little thing, so if you can show me a dude scanning for safety, I’m ok with that and I’ll trust you. Also, generally, most high rises under construction, don’t allow you to just walk right up to them. You know, safety concerns and all that.
Also with the amount of force Iron Man and Hulk were going at, straight down I might add, that building WOULD more than likely just implode in on itself, and just collapse inward and downward.
Much different than Clark just posing while buildings are falling around him, then making out with the girl he saved on the ashes of millions of Metropolis’ dead, and their collectively destroyed EVERYTHING.
Actually I know if anyone had the same powers as superman, and other being with the same powers would fight you in a city, I know you wouldnt give a fuck and just fight him.
he may not have snapped his neck…but everyone pretty much linked it as superman causing it. especially when bats was like calm down yo…and supers pimp smacks him and breaks his arm.
Ah the Captain Marvel episode where they took any bitchmadeness that Supes might’ve had, and then turned it all the way to MAXIMUM. And it was only for that one episode.
Darkseid was killed in an explosion, Brainiac (or a piece of him) was destroyed in the process as well. Lex tried to revive to regain Brainiac’s power, but accedentally revived Darkseid who was also infused with the power of Brainiac at the same time.
Did Superman try to kill Darkseid in the second major fight? Yeah he did, but it was more of a “mutually assured destruction” or “self-sacrifice” type of deal, not a full-on murder kind of situation.
