LOL, i doubt it. They will go all out on the cgi. Doomsday will be zods body experimented on by luthor, who in turn somehow ends up turning zod into doomsday. It would make more sense to fit into the movie, because that would be hella rushed if out of nowhere doomsday pops up and superman has to battle him.
Using zods body is not a bad retelling of doomsdays origin, although the original origin is pretty boss, yet also simple, and doesnt really lose too much by retelling it as zod turning into doomsday.
In a way i guess, but i assume whatever is done to zods body will make the creation out of control, creating doomsday, and wont simply be under lex luthors thumb. Talk about death and destruction though. Considering all the homo cries of violence from the first movie, when doomsday comes, umm ya, shits gonna get leveled.
Yeah but they’re taking an iconic villain, ruining his origin, and having him basically be a whipping boy for batman and superman to manhandle (even worse considering Batman wasn’t involved at all, in the OG fight). If you wanna do something like that, should have just had Luthor make Metallo or something, instead.
Also, we’re assuming Superman just let them have Zod’s body? What, he snapped his neck then left the uber powerful alien corpse just chilling in the rubble??? No Kryptonian burial, or at least hiding the obviously useful corpse?
The only thing that Doomsday ironic was killing Superman. He doesn’t have anything to his name other than that. The character was pretty much a throwaway after he did his one job. The character actually did become a whipping boy for Superman once he was given sentience.
He’s one of the few beings in the universe capable of kicking Darkseid’s ass, he killed Superman (or at least put him in a fucking coma), and he’s one of the oldest beings in the universe, and Kryptonian (which I suppose still happens). His entire ability was to evolve to become unkillable or injurable by something. Now he’s Batman’s punching bag.
And when he gained sentience, he actually saved Superman’s existence…in fact, his sentience made him fear death, thus making him a bit weaker, but he was able to gather a group of people to save the day, when Supes died.
Having a couple of kick ass moments doesn’t make for a good character. Red Hulk was built up in a similar way and not once did it make him an interesting character.
Red Hulk was kept under mystery, and the reveal was somewhat half decent…much different than crafting an amazing history of destruction across the universe for Doomsday, and taking out some of the big bads. They would have him do impossible shit like punch out the Watcher, then get easily killed and owned by Mephisto.
Every time Doomsday showed up, something crazy went down (even when he got pounded to goo by 100,000 Kryptonians)
Doomsday’s origin and up to Hunter/Prey arc was fine. The character had been made in such a way that it was just a fucking warpath. No need for character development beyond that. What they did after was just sad. Hell, I’ll take the cameo he had Byrne’s Wonder Woman over anything post Hunter/Prey
