Batman/Boy Wonder #10 + Magneto Testament

  1. I went into this comic store that I dont usually go into anymore and found that they were selling Batman #10 WITH the explicit errors not completely removed for 15 bucks. I figured why not, since they were all supposed to be destroyed before retailers even got them. Looks like you cant trust all retailers, cause they all want a easy buck. And Im proud it was mine.

  2. Picked up Magneto Testament 1&2 as well. Really good reads. If I were a social studies teacher, Id put this as a recommended read because it basically is a history lesson with pictures. And its also hilarious how in one panel an old lady says “Oh here are Poland’s brave sons ready to do battle!” And all you see is dudes on horses. I love Pak said he wants to be as historically accurate as possible, when he makes an obvious jab at the whole “Poland had nothing but a cavalry” joke haha

Pick up Testament though! It will be a definitive Magneto origin story in the future.

Re Magneto Testament: I am very glad that they made Magneto Jewish and made sure his birth name is not Erik Lehsherr. Erik was an attempt to make Magneto a Gypsy and not Jewish. Which IMHO is silly, Magneto’s story doesn’t work as well if he is not Jewish. Erik was also tossed out as a forgery name. Still, recently both Bendis (New Avengers) and I hear Hudlin (Black Panther) too both messed up and used the name Erik, possibly going with movies and cartoons thinking that was his name. Anyway, a great old post at Newsarama if you want to read up on Magneto’s name -

BTW in recent MyCup O’Joe, JQ confirmed that Magneto Testament is canon even though it’s a Marvel Knights book. Marvel Knights books are canon whenever Marvel wants them to be basically.
