Been playing Arkham City for a few hours. So far my general impression is “meh”. It just seems more of the same but a greater landscape.
I hope my impression changes, I really do. Cause as of now, it falls way, way under the amount of hype it garnered.
Something I forgot to ask: are there any mysteries like the Chronicles of Arkham last game? I mean those stone tablets you had to decode. I’ve heard of Arkham City stories, but know nothing other than the name.

It picks up once you start getting more gadgets and getting into the meat of the game. They basically start you off with the gear you ended AA with so it’s gonna be the same at the begining, but they build on what they had instead of starting over
I didn’t find anything like these while playing.

Frankly I was rather disappointed at how small a role Sharp played in the game. Maybe I missed some stuff (I finished with only 41% completed) but that little rescue and interrogation being his only part on the story was woefully small considering how instrumental he was setting this whole fucking fiasco up. They didn’t even touch on the fact that he’s completely possessed by the spirit of Amadeus Arkham and completely bat shit insane.
[spoiler= Quincy Sharp spoilers] They did in his bio I believe. It said Strange gave his drugs to make him think he was possessed and made is pretty much black mailing him and made him make Strange in charge of Arkham city. [/spoilers]
Some things I noticed:
- How many gadgets are we supposed to be able to get? I have all the ones from the main story but the D-pad layout looks wierd.
- Selecting TAS Batman (which looks super cool in this game) also makes you have TAS Catwoman.
- The women (or atleast Harley, Catwoman, and Talia) are sooo damn sexy in this game

- Catwoman spoilers [details=Spoiler]When jumping up buildings, in the left corner of the screen it actually tells you if you pressed the jump button “too late,” “too early,” or if it was “good” timing. The game mentions nothing about this so I was wondering if anyone knows what it’s for. I checked the map and she doesnt seem to have AR missions (I was thinking there might be an AR mission to practice doing it and earn an upgrade) and I doubt Rocksteady put it in just to see if you’re mashing “jump” or actually timing it. - Lastly, there really needs to be a way to jump back in to your finished story mode with a undamaged costume. Catwoman is hot but I’m not liking the whole [details=Spoiler]burnt up and cut look from her apartment exploding[/details]

yeah, i wasn’t a fan. i ended up just knocking out the one guard on the way to two-face’s balcony, then beating the shit out of two-face, then i crit striked the inmates with guns, back to beating two-face until he was ko’d.
And if you had the paid powerup rewards membership you got the TAS skin.

it’s there to help you time getting up the building quickly. It’s not that hard to figure out. I got it the second i saw it. If you hit it too soon or too late she goes up slowly. It doesn’t sound important till the moment your being rained upon by white hot lead.
