if you look closely you’ll notice that David’s head, hands and feet are disporportionally large.
its not anatomically correct. reason. he wanted to emphasize those features of the human body since those are what defines personality or the sections of the human body that makes people distinct.
his david also has restrained tension in its pose
as for Bernini’s…
Bernini’s David is all about released energy and movement due to its twisting nature of the torso and the arm in the exact momement before it commits a backhand motion.
but the forrowed eyebrows and pursed lips of his David has a badassness to it.
very roman.
very serious.
very “don’t F with me” in its facial expression.
Michelangelo’s David also has forrowed eyebrows but without pursed lips.
But it wouldn’t make sense if it did since Bernini’s David has pursed lips only due to Bernini trying to connotate the act of muscle exertion, while Mikey’s David is restrained in movement.
