This whole 2009 mentality sickens me and other socal FIGHTING GAMERS who used to play sf and quit because we canāt stand the lovey dovey dick riding.
I may not be a top player or may never even be a āsomebodyā, but Iāve been in the community since 2000 and have kept up with every international or coast vs coast event in both 3d and 2d communities, and this was by far the most embarrassing thing for socal ever. Shoulda seen it coming from this past evo and WCW.
Even though itās only an exhibition, 10-1 is terrible. A secondary cali marvel team of unknown arcade players would have done better against the EC top 5 mvc2 compared to socal vs empire. As far as Tekken goes, socal and norcal are still holding it down. WTF happened to SF? 2009 did.

The most hype moment ever at Evo besides when Daigo parried Justin, was the $7000 money match between Duc and Sanford at Evo 2k6. They had one whole side of the room cheering for one person and one coast, and the another side cheering for theirs. Huge Rivalry, huge shit talk throughout the years, when it was all said done, it wasnāt about the hate, it was about the hype.
I donāt know about you, Iād rather fight a jackass who could play, then a nice guy who not only couldnāt play well, but had the wrong mentality. Donāt tell me how to fucking play or behave 09er, Iāve been playing forever and you know what, Iām not going to be lovey dovey to some 2009er that just met me in the arcade and wants to be my friend immediately.
Instead, I go in with the mentality that Iām going to destroy them as quick and badly as possible, and if I lose, oh well, they outplayed me or I didnāt play well. I donāt bitch when I lose. I might not be great or even good, but fuck I have the right mentality when I fucking play, something that a lot of the newer socal players lack. So donāt tell me to level up.
You know how it feels when you beat a dick like me, it feels pretty fucking good, because you know I (or whomever you played) didnāt hold anything back, and you were still able to win. Thatās a far better feeling than beating a nice guy who couldnāt play all out. That is fun, winning is funā¦

I had so much fun yesterday! Mad props to Gootecks and his team for running that whole thing. From experience, we know how hard it is to run tournaments alone. What you guys did by adding so many other elements, and having 10x more people than most tournies was awesome. I think some people need to step back and really see that 1 guy, 2 girls, and a few volunteers had to accommodate hundreds of excited, drunkā¦ and rowdy SF4 players. Good Shit!!
