Not if its USB wireless like the Hori arcade sticks
Wireless should be banned, period. Ya, we can DQ the guy who fucked up, but there’s no way to mend what ever match got interrupted. Just ban wireless controllers.
Evo should maintain a list of Evo Sanctioned controllers. (and then MadCatz can start branding their controllers ‘Evo Sanctioned’) Then when money starts flowing away from non tournament-friendly products, maybe then manufactures will pay us some mind and we can finally get some TV’s with game-modes (now called: Tournament-mode) that don’t lag.
I dream of the day all fighting games have button configs that assign buttons to functions, and I don’t have to go all the way back to the 360’s home screen to unassign a wireless controller from a controller slot. Or hell, fighting games with a tournament-mode that sets the pause menu to a multi-button combination, to prevent accidental pauses like during Sanford’s matches.
That’s just going to make it more difficult for the casual gamer to get into the tournament scene. Suddenly now he has to spend cash to buy a ridiculous “tournament certified” controller because he can’t use the controller he has practiced with for years. Plus having to get used to it and spending many more hours getting a feel for the controller than actually practicing the game itself.
you can always use a madcatz wireless controller, they dont use bluetooth.
PS2 controller with inpin or pelican converter
I’m sort of confused because I’d like to participate in next year’s EVO but the “No Wireless Controllers” rule is pointing to the normal wireless PS3/Xbox 360 controller right? Those this mean wireless Arcade Sticks too? Because I’m looking to buy this stick: Joytron Paewang Revolution
