Mr. Wizard, if you’re serious I will definitely be there.
Good shit
I miss SHGL. ;____;
Make that happen! That would be too hype.
There’s a clip of Wiz playing DDR?
I must see this :3
should screen Tekken instead
…and I always thought I Got Next is a dumb name for a doc. I mean, that expression is used for almost every sport, and has no extra special fighting game meaning.
Please show Bang the Machine!
I went to my first Evo last year in 2009. I was so excited, and though it was great to finally say “I went to Evo.” it being the ONE year this wasn’t shown was a sad realization.
The Tomo Ohira interview was hotness though. Only thing that can top that is bringing Tomo Ohira to EVO 2010~! Make it happen~!
But yes, please show it next year. Will be worth the price of admission alone.
It’s going to be my first EVO and it would be a dissapointment if Bang The Machine wasn’t shown. I’ve heard so much about it and watched the little clips on youtube over and over…please show it at EVO 2k10
That would be awesome. Seeing this and I got next Full Cut.
Is this really the Citizen Kane of fighting game documentaries that everyone makes it out to be? Just curious because some people make it sound like going to EVO just to see Bang The Machine is reason enough.
If fighting games were a religion, Bang The Machine would be Jesus Christ.
Wouldn’t it be more of the equivalent of the bible? What with it being a document that depicts early stages of the scene with it’s first actors?
At first, I was going to say the Bible. But then I realized that a lot of these players like Valle, Watson and Choi started getting recognized in gamer magazines. These magazines would be like the written stories of the bible (‘A reading from the book of Valle’ type stuff). Rather, none of it is preaching but it is something that is readily available if you look hard enough for it.
Bang the Machine would be Jesus Christ in a sense because it is something that everybody knows and hears about about but has kind of become that crazy person on the corner of the street that claims to be Jesus. I know a lot of people have seen the screenings of Bang The Machine in past Evo’s but with all these new people that have maybe just heard of this documentary, Bang The Machine has reached resurrection status. It is almost mythological in a way because a lot of us that have been to past Evo’s can claim that we have seen it, but we can’t really prove it (because recording is not allowed and other things). It has reached a cult status to have had the privilege to see this amazing documentary.
I’m rambling. But on the real, I would classify Bang The Machine as Jesus status because it should be resurrected and hopefully this year is the year we see it happen.
I was supposed to go to evo 06 but a traffic ticket the day before payday ruined my plans.
(summer) school (its almost a necessity for my degree program) had kept me from going in 07 and 08, but I was finally able to go in 09.
I remember always reading how seeing this movie was such a treat at EVO, and I was a bit disappointed that it was not shown last year.
It was one of the things that I looked forward to the most.
I only hope that they show it this year because the story it tells is very relevant, and should be almost introductory material to the fighting game community.
Agreed on this one 2008 screening was amazing
may have some good news in the next week.
Listening to the podcast where they talk about it. Would love to see this, to really see the old-school scene. :
