Im stuck on no.5 Hard.
For one, the c.lk hardly ever hits, Dans hit box is stupidly small for this one so no matter how deep i jump into dan it still misses.
When it does connect, lets say 1 out of 10 tries, i get the rush upper ex, into jab jab but he always blocks the headbutt, seriously f*cking pissing me off so much ARGH!!!
Nope, it’s definitely the Far Standing HK and I would assume close LP but I’m 99% sure it can also be linked off of far st.LP. So do whatever floats your boat.
this is what worked for me:
i was just working on looping cr.lp -> cr.lp ->ex upper
over and over, looping it up to like 6hit-9hit etc. and after one of the loops i just did the cr. lp -> cr.lk -> headbutt instead of another jab to upper combo
it came out perfectly, which was weird as i’d been trying it for ages before, also when it came out i wasnt even really thinking about it. i was just doing a monotonous jab->upper loop and just did it without thinking.
i was so worried the ultra was gonna miss, after i finally landed the headbutt, or i wouldnt have backcharge or something but it all worked
didnt like the look of hard#5 although only spent a couple of minutes on it so far
hard trial 5 just done so im now all clear! took me about 30 minutes, id say split it into two parts:
j.HK->HK->cr.lk->ex.Upper
and
ex.Upper->cr.lp->cr.lp->headbutt
i found it easier to go from upper to lp->lp rather than lp->lk as in trial 4.
I think the key to this trial is as soon as you get the upper out you are charging downback straight away, as my headbutts werent coming out for a while and this is why. You really do need to be quick, going from upforward+2kicks to downback again almost instantly
Is there a link anywhere showing you how to link combos. Transitioning from Street fighter II to IV i have a problem linking combos. I can’t even do jab to Left >Right punch. I dont have any problem juggling but have a problem linking combos.
No. If it doesn’t go straight up the back from :db: to :ub:, you’ll lose your back charge and the ultra won’t come out. It takes a little bit of practice to get used to holding your back charge, but once you get the hang of it your overall game will open up considerably.
I have a question that’s more in general but also for one o the hard trials, though I can’t recall which number. It’s the one that goes c.lp > c.lp > EX Dash upper > c.lp > c.lk > Headbutt > Ultra.
My problem is hitting the headbutt. About 80% of the time I try this combo, I alaws jump back instead of doing the headbutt. I know it’s my timing but I’m unsure of what. Am I hitting jump too fast or am I hitting punch (I’m using HP) before the jump?
Hard Trial #5 gives me the most trouble because I keep going into ex smash instead of ex rush upper. Does anyone know a solution or trick to making this easier?
Yay I got my cube finially only took me about a few month’s. So the key to these are the timing on the links like truethfully don’t stress yourself over these trials if your new to fighting games these links will come just remember to keep the presser on and don’t give up on them. These seemed to spark new idea’s in my sleep and I try them and they work. I was stuck on the 5th hard for about a month wasn’t really trying to but I think my problem was I wasn’t able to connect the headbutt after the two jabs because I was getting fraustrated and mashing out the jabs so I guess I was canceling the jabs and the headbut wouldn’t connect. So anyways Good luck remember not to stress yourself out but surely don’t give up on them hope this helps anyone.
Could I get some help for Balrog’s Hard Trial number 3? I can’t seem to link the c.MP even though I seem to be doing the j.HK as high as possible before starting the jabs and when I miraculously do, I can’t seem to perform the dash straight quickly enough.
