Go down-back to up-back, so you never lose your back charge. Do the rest after you land.

To Juggle with the ultra:
Boxer does straights in his ultra unless you hold a kick button, this causes him to do uppers instead allowing you to juggle.
Most people do :k: on first punch, let go for second punch(whiff) and hold :k: for the rest. This lets most of the damage land, even in the corner.
Finally the Rog cube!
also, the first straight punch of the ultra actually does juggle, so you can let the first two punches go as straights (the first hitting and the second whiffing), then hold :k: to upper the rest.
:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby: OMG I have carpel tunnel syndrome and my eyes are now crossed. I hate this trial (I am on hard 4 BTW) I tried this for like 6 hrs today. I couldve been playin and I’m kiling myself for a damn cube. I almost get it, then I cant even get the first part. It’s like a sick joke. I just got to 10 hours with the TE stick yesterday and finally committed to finishing at least one of rog’s trials.
I first learned FA canceling (just talking about absorbing a hadoken then moving back or forward). I noticed knowing how to time this is what allows you to get the mk and lk to link (you need to hold it just past the point of no return to get the dashes to input after the FA that allow you to link the mk lk).
For me this trial was easier to perform charging the headbutt down towards. Then I first practiced linking the lk to headbutt and when I could do that 90%, then added in the mk.
About 30 tries later it was at least 50% for the 3hit combo. Even if Dan is blocking you want to see all you inputs going through or something is just not working right. Then accelerate inputs a bit until they all connect, eventually it becomes second nature to your hands at least and add in the FA w/ dash and you’re good to go.
ha if you’re having trouble connecting the jab jab ex dash upper, try adding a light kick before the ex dash upper, i found it much easier. so it’d be jab, jab, light kick, ex dash upper.
I’ve had the TE for 2 weeks and completed hard trial #4, but I’m totally stuck on #5. Dan blocks the headbutt after the 2x c.lps, so frustrating…

u can’t cancel the jabs. they gotta be linked. meaning the jab animation has to finish on the 1st jab before throwing out the 2nd.
but the headbutt u gotta do quickly. can’t wait on that. or dan will block.
completing rog’s hard trials was probably the most satisfying out of all the ones i’ve done so far. because i was stuck on his 5th one for foreeeever. same as blanka’s 5th. that was a pain in the neck.

Is what i used to do a long time ago until i learned it was a cancel and not a link sound about right? You need to be cancelling the final c.LP into headbutt. the c.LP after the ex rush upper is the only portion that has to be timed perfectly, the rest of it you can just mash. The only reason i can see dan blocking your headbutt is because you’re doing it slow.
Are you able to do c.LP x3 headbutt just by itself? try to get that timing down if you can do that without fail you’ll understand better. Of course you may be doing this all already. But that’s what helped me.
pretty sure slowing down isn’t the issue with c.LP headbutt. You can go fast or slow to get it.
hmm, i have cleared #5 recently… the problem i had was the transition from cr+lk to Dash upper, because the smash kept coming out.
Once connected, just do lp -> lp -> headbutt as a chain instead of link. that could help.

When I try Hard Trial #1 I do the focus, c.MP, but then he flips away so the lp misses how do you do this one?
After the Focus Attack immediately do c.MP then c.LK (do this when Balrog is pushed back because of c.MP but don’t wait until he is all the way back, do it about 1/2 of the way). The timing is a bit odd, but you’ll get it eventually.
no, you’re missing because the dash did not input correctly. You will know that you’ve done it right because you will either combo the c.LK or Dan will block it (if you’re too slow) but it will hit because the dash allows you to be close enough.
i know this is pretty pathetic but im stuck on normal trial 4 1/5, i get the jumping fierce into crouching strong but either the dash dosent come out or when it does, dan blocks. thanks in advance
Just have to keep trying to link the combo i was stuck on it just keep practicing and i need help withe #4 hard trail any one has tips that would help
do a level 1 focus attack then do the combo otherwise dan will flip and you cant do the combo
Any tips for Hard #3? It would be easy but I have having trouble getting the c.MP to connect. I am jumping in as deep as I can…special trick I am missing?
edit: got it. Not sure if it was mentioned, but just hit the j.RH as high as possible and it should work out.
