oh man how do u know if you link or cancel? is the only way to see if his clp motion stopped for his clk
You can’t cancel c. lp into c. lk. You can test this quite easily by mashing out c. lk after a c. lp. It won’t come out until the c. lp animation is finished.
Hard Trial #4 keeps kickin me in the bawls!! When should I input for the c.Lp? After or during the ExDashUpper animation?

arbie, try to wait longer between the c.lp to c.lk and then do the headbutt instantly after the lk, worked for me
im stuck at trial 5 … cant get the headbutt to come out… either im not charging long/quick enough… or im somehow missing the ub (and therefore losing my back charge)
Copy and paste whatever you did at the end for your successful trial 4 onto the end of trial 5.
GOT EM ALL DONE!! But real talk, the last 2 are easy after a rhythm is developed. =) so happy with that balrog block head
Oh god, after hours of repetition I finally got both parts of hard #5 to come out ONE TIME and somehow I fail the ultra motion at the end. I swear to god, how my stick isn’t smashed into a thousand pieces is nothing short of a miracle.
hahha when i was stuck on that trial i got the ultra to come out but dan was too low to catch so i didnt get it hahah after a while of trying though you’ll get use to it and develop muscle memory and thats when you’ll get it done
lol similar thing happened to me on 4&5. I got the super to come out instead. This happened multiple times, i was so sad
Just made me watch the vid I recorded of trying to do these back in July - I fondly remember spending ages at this stuff and just being incapable - When it came to the last two (ending in Ultra) I remember rushing for the kick button and just holding it down like my life depended on it so the juggle wouldn’t miss the first hit - On a previous occasion I had done the Ultra too late after FINALLY getting that combo out and it missed completely which had me very upset at the time
Good times and I wish everyone luck with getting them done - They turn out to be a nice platform for more complex non-trial combos later on in some shape or form so don’t forget them once you get your Title/Icon.

he had only like 1% left and i was to late.

btw.: when i think he is to low, should i go with punches or kicks??
kick. It comes out faster and will have a higher chance of hitting if you did the ultra too late.
Hey guys, been stuck on hard 4 for weeks now; my main problem is just the headbutt not connecting. Any tips?
And yes I slow down my lp before the lk and make my lk to HB fast. But usually Dan just blocks it or it doesnt come out at ALL. Please help, it’s driving me crazy.
One way or the other it has to be the link timing… You can always test that you have the timing right by just doing the last part in a vacuum. If you do have it right it’s probably the stress that’s screwing with you.
Simple way for me to do 4 was to literally test out ech part, do the 1st 2-3 moves then do 3-5 and so on. Once u have the right timing for each part try 2 do 1-5 then wen u have that connect it wif the last part. Its all repetition rly.
That’s what I figured. I even went to training mode and saw that my last 4 moves are connecting; and so are my first 3 moves. When I put them all together though, the headbutt never come out on time. I got it to hit Dan once but it was the EX version.

The separate parts are piss-easy, linking the c.lp after the EX RU seems almost impossible to me right now, however. Kinda bugs me how the trials’ difficulty varies so much from char to char. Dhalsim’s hard ones were a joke (except #1 maybe), rog is quite hard.

can someone tell me , what is frame and how can i timing ? and “cancel” , how must i do it ? sorry, im a newbie… help me pls
A frame is simply a still picture of the game while playing. The game is basically a really fast slide show which I believe runs at 60 frames per second. The ‘cancel’ you’re most likely referring to is starting up one move before the frames of the previous move have finished.
Example: Balrog’s cr. mp is say 25 frames (this is more than likely to be inaccurate) in total from when you press the button till when Balrog finishes the move and can block again. Balrog can however ‘cancel’ into any of his special moves except TAP I believe. Say the frame data reads that frames 15-25 can be cancelled into his special moves. If you input a cr. mp and then 17 frames later you input a headbutt motion, you will have cancelled the rest of the frames from frame 17 onwards into the startup frames headbutt.
