Yep, only reliable options are to sweep or C. MP, DS after the overhead I believe.
Nice, though considering the difficulty of doing that you may as well just do J RH, CS RH, C LK/MP, Fierce DS, Super which I believe is 514 damage (slightly less with Cr LK I believe, like 504 or something).
Against a crouching opponent if you jump in with HP you can do J HP, CS HP, FS Jab, Fierce DS, Super which also nets ~ 510 damage.
Yeah ur right there easier to do but I’m training my self to a lot hard combos I’m getting tired of having to start all my combos with jab all the time
jab combos are the easiest to hit confirm and rog’s fastest punish into a combo, so starting with them is probably the best thing aside from learning what moves are negative enough to punish with another move that’s a combo starter (e.g. cr.mp, cl.mk, cr.mk, cl.hk).
Some hard combos if you’re looking to practice execution or just get out of the monotony that is jab, jab, short Hp HB would be:
j.hp, cr.mk, st.lp, cr.mp xx EX.RU, cr.lp, cr.mp xx EX.RU, cr.lp, st.lp, cr.hk/st.hk
its my dream to be able to do cr.lp, cr.mp consistently in RU combos, but my execution is crap, so i usually go entire matches without using a combo, and just stick to bnb jab jab short headbutt, and OH short headbutt ultra.
as far as execution goes, does anyone have drills or combos they practiced over and over again to help?
dunno if anyone noticed this, but if you’re doing the st.lp to cr.hk link in a combo, it seems a lot easier if you hit it late. For example cr.mk, st.lp, cr.hk, seems hella easier if you hit the st.lp later rather than sooner (since you’ve got 3 frames). Might just be me though.
As usual, nothing new or fancy - Just figured it was a bit odd in the last match I had 10mins ago how a Fierce Overhead Traded with Rufus C.LP and was still able to combo into Short>Headbutt and typical Ultra.
I wager this is possible on a few people but probably not too many, most characters (or you) tend to get pushed back way too far for short to connect on a trade.
Again, nothing interesting or fancy but it looked pretty nifty.
i was in training about to get off, when i did jump roundhouse, cr jab, cl st roundhouse, cr short xx any dash punch. as my previous post states, i knew cl st fierce comboed off of cr jab but i didnt know cl st roundhouse did until today. idk if it was stated somewhere else in this topic but id thought id share.
also after a jump in fierce or roundhouse, you can do 2 jabs then cl st forward xx any dash punch or super. this has to be done after a jump in because youll be in perfect positioning for it, rather if you just crouched next to the dummy.
for practicing exceution, what i’ve been doing lately is just c.lp, c.lk, exRU untill i get in the rythm(3-4 loops), then substituting c.lk for c.mp, once i get that going for a few loops, i try to switch back to c.lk, and then back and forth whenever
speaking of weird combos, on characters with extremely fat hitboxes you can do - j.rh, cs.rh, c.hp xx super i found out the other day
Random discovery on weird cr.mk links. They only work when you’re deep, but i’ve found that this extends to all close normals (albeit cl.mk is the most useful) for special cancels. I also found that this works on more characters than I thought at first, so far people i’ve confirmed that this works on is Adon, Akuma, Honda, and Dudley so far. cl.hk does combo, but seems impossible to link anything else afterwards because of the push back, but you can super cancel it for > 500 dmg.
And an a really weird link is deep cr.mk to st.mp, i’ve gotten it to work consistently on Adon.
For anyone trying to recreate the deep cr.mk into close normals you have to hit the link during the push back from the cr.mk. It seems easiest with cl.fp…but its still impractical at the moment lol.
when I was praticing links I would do j.HK/Lvl3 FA, cl.HK, c.mp xx ex Upper, c.lp, c.mp xx ex Upper, c.lp, s.lp, c.hk.
This way I praticed all the links I was trying to get consistent with. c.lp, c.mp, cl.hk, c.mp and s.lp, c.hk.
It’s not optimal because some combos you rely on ryhtm but that’s how I praticed at the time because I get bored if I’m doing the same combo/link over and over again.
I feel kinda weird asking this, but how do you setup the overhead smash? It seems like every time I use it, I get poked out of it. I just learned EX Over cr. jab (or short), fierce head xx U1, and I need a viable setup. It seems like the coolest way to land it.
^ any special cancelable move. doing jab jab short overhead is very common so try not to do that that much. i do this which works a lot. cr jab, cl st forward xx overhead or cr jab cr jab walk back cr strong overhead or cr jab cl st roundhouse cr jab xx overhead. just mix it up with different pokes and whatnot
Some force stand combos. probably old but i wanted to see the combo potential this had. i also noticed that its character specific and will not work on anyone.

on a different note, i came across a nice link that works on some characters too. an overhead into cr. Fierce xx special does a lot of damage. works on dhalsim, but havent tested it out on others. u can actually just do an overhead straight into special or even do an ex overhead into FULL ULTRA
