exactly what im trying to say :shy:
ok so nothing is mashable gotcha
I have a stick, and I told TAP with my Pinky (L2) and use my thumb, index, & middle finger while still keeping that charge. Haha…Lvl 9 TAP ftw.
I know a lvl 8 TAP does 560 o.O
how do you double dash punch? i see all the pros do it…
b 2secs, f, b+Punch, forward and punch again? doesn’t work for me
I watched Maeda Taison vs Daigo’s video, Maeda uses ultra exclusively for getting around daigo’s fireball footsie game, usually as a finisher after a few fireball baits; I noticed the damage is significantly more than the c.lp c.lp c.lk xx headbutt xx ultra combo, now is that the correct and more effective way to use ultra? Or is it really player dependent?
Ultra juggles generally do less damage because they get scaled more due to the preceding hits in the combo, and because quite a few of the hits will whiff.
Uncomboed ultras do more damage because most of the hits will connect, and because it doesn’t get scaled.
The thing is, you won’t get a chance to land an uncomboed ultra unless your opponent screws up and does something you can punish. You’ll get far more opportunities to land your ultra via a juggle, so sometimes it’s better to just take the juggle opportunity rather than try to wait for a chance to land your uncomboed ultra.
I’m going to ask another noobie question here, everytime I try to do tap, the corresponding move comes out first for example if hit PPP, first I get fierce punch and if I hold/release it tap comes out. So what do I do to make sure tap is executed right away like I see in the videos.
That’s normal - you have to press the buttons first in order to even start charging TAP in the first place. What you can do is press all three punch buttons, but press LP/jab FIRST so only a jab comes out. Since it’s so fast, you’ll be ok.
I have a question. How do you charge moves while combing. For example hp,c. mp ,random charge move?
My next question is while playing balrog is it alot of crouching going on?
just hold back all the time.
Sorry to be skeptical but are you sure? Watch the very beginning of round 2 of this vid. Tap comes out immediately without any moves preceding it.

He was holding the punches/kicks down before the round began.
so i was trying the ex upper loop today and i made some progress but i still think timing is a huge issue for me. I know it just takes practice like any other combo but any tips that might have helped you would be greatly appreciated. thanks for any info
Are you doing the Jab, Short sequence or Jab, Jab? When I started practicing Upper loops, I found that (for me atleast) it was easier to start out with Jab, Jab, Upper, Jab, Jab, Upper etc. When you feel comfortable, you could try to do the Jab, Short sequence instead if you wish. Also, when the smoke effect from the EX Upper settles, thats when you hit Jab. Hope this helps with the timing.
I just saw 2 vids where Maeda Taison and the Puerto Rican Rog (from SB4) dash forward towards a fireball then did the ultra. How is this performed
charge back, f, f, b f KKK/PPP
player dependent.
when i first started playing boxer, i only used ultra from combos. now i only do that if i think it will kill, or almost kill, the opponent. otherwise it’s a waste. if you can predict a fireball, you’re going to be knocking out a lot of the opponents health on one good read. the downside is that it’s risky and you will get hurt on block. a good way to get around that is through the ex kara cancel method. the downside of that method is the fact that it doesn’t go through all pokes though.
ahh i see so you gotta be smart & no just throw it out, thanks guys
im practicing the jab short one. I had some good progress yesterday considering i couldnt do it the day before and i was able to get a 15 hit loop going without ultra… idk im guessing practice is whats going to seal this deal but the smoke thing you mentioned does work but again its a timing thing lol haha
also, ultra and super is a great way to punish people who are too excited about using fa.
-letting the opponent fa a straight punch and then comboing into the super is always great.
-if you’re already storing a charge, and you hear the initial sound of the fa (that deep thump noise) going right into the ultra is a great way to get an ultra to hit too. the only thing you have to worry about is if they manage to dash and “hop” out of it. even then you can still juggle by holding down 3xk.
