Since this thread is up anyway heres a few things that I find the new Vega needs work on:
Claw hitbox is still funky with his normals which should be fixed. Escpecially his far standing fierce punch.
POM should have 14 frame start up and 4 active frames and regain his range from vanilla. Since he doesn’t have invincibility (outside of U2) or overly high priority he should have a move specifically made to stuff out wake-up reversals. Plus it still won’t be able to combo after, as long as the frame advantages on hit end in 0-0 this suggestion shouldn’t break Claw.
A counter ultra for Claw does sound cool. Maybe something like… He takes off his mask to taunt and if a opponent hits him he’ll scream: “MY face!” then does red impact. But thats just fanboy droppings haha… would be cool tho dreams
I was thinking more go into Berserker rage when his mask gets hit off a-la animated movie “You bitch I’ll make you suffer!” mode X3

the only thing i can think of i’d really really want is a reversal with iframes.
faster rcf would be nice but it’s fine the way it is.
i think u1 is more reliable than u2 but that’s my opinion
making SHC safe on hit would be nice but it’s meant as an aa
fixing recovery on wall dive misses would be nice but again it’s ok.
fixing the 1 frame links on everything you’d wanna link would be nice.

Take it you haven’t done his trials X3 You have to do SHC on a JUMPING opponent. Meaning it’s classified anti-air by Capcom’s standards.
Not really to us though X3
Pfft. Trials also tell me that j. hp, cr.lp, cr.lk, lk ST, EX ST is the combo I ought to be doing. I do 'em for the icons and titles, and that’s it. I tend not to care too much about what I just learnt during trials
But now that you say it, I do remember. Wow… CAPCOM, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
My sentiments exactly with half the trials they put up. Some of them either:
A: Yeah, good luck doing them in an ACTUAL fight.
B: Really not worth the damage.
C: Put an ultra at the end that only does like…2 hits so isn’t worth the ultra on the end AKA one of Guile’s trials.
Lol, here’s an example of that with Ryu.
c.lp -> c.lk -> c.lp -> c.mp -> lp SRK -> FADC -> U1
U1 won’t get all of it’s hits in this case due to the combo system I’m pretty sure.
I’ve found really one use for SHC and that ironically enough is in the Vega matchup, I’ve found (especially the EX version because of knockdown) it’s a good punish for either random FBA’s or blocked EX FBA’s.
And that’s really the only use I know for it.
Ex FBA is a better punisher.
If someone used SHC to punish me when I am on the ground if I was Vega, then thats a free cr mp into ex FBA or a free ultra, after I get hit by the SHC lol.
Which is why you use EX SHC which has knockdown. But in that case EX FBA has proven itself to be far superior to SHC when it comes to punishing.

Sky High Claw is a pre-emptive AA, as in if the opponent has a habit of jumping up and trying to hit you out of wall dives, Sky High Claw will beat them every time.
Duh? Not to be rude to you, but that was for anyone who thought otherwise. The two main reasons.
- EX SHC gives the opponent a chance to block if combo’d into; not everyone gets confused by the mix-up. For example
c.mp -> EX SHC isn’t a combo, because the EX SHC can be blocked.
c.mp -> EX Barcelona is, which makes it more punishing in that sense.
- EX SHC does 120[100] damage, while the Izuna drop does 150 damage, plus the damage for the knee.
EX SHC is good for catching opponents off guard though, but EX Barcelona IMO is safer and more punishing.
I said the only punish option I know for it is if Vega goes for a fba. You can catch him on the way down. I never said it was the best punish, I know there’s no way to combo into it, and I was just saying that to say it’s the only use I know for it.

I guess all I really have to say is SHC has limited use if any use at all.
