Not sure how to read this. Does this mean Vega’s Super Arts going forward (Knee Press) will now be attackable within the first 5 frames??
I like the idea of gems, I really do. I just think that the meter cost for the auto-block and auto-throw gems is way too low. Especially with the new ones that decrease the cost of them even further. Just increase the overall meter cost of the auto-block and auto-throw gems and I think people will be a lot less frustrated with this game.
Oh, hadn’t noticed they mentioned they had more balance changes coming up. I’m pleased.
I think that this means that Dictator’s super art is invincible for the first five frames, or something like that.
I’m liking the “boost” gems as well. I think it allows us to customize a character to where even though you and I may be using the same one, yours may be built for speed while mine is built for metering. It’s well known that its the Auto Block and Auto Throw gems that are the issue. Hopefully that gets taken care down the road.
Ahh crap I forgot about the name differences in Japan. Epic fail lol
Yes, more stuff that I don’t understand! Gems, might be so-so, but I guess I should be happy about the changes, even though I don’t know what half of the stuff means. Stupid plus and minuses. ><
No, but seriously, can someone put the plus and minus thing into the simplest terms possible so I can understand what you’re all talking about?
It really should be plus +3 at most
imo rufus is the stupidest thing in this game. Now ryu needs a slight nerf on frames and we are golden.
When does this drop?
Next Tuesday, it seems.
“To guard the fastest Falcon Kick is a disadvantage of 4 frames”
Sounds like, OnBlock, Rufus is +4 (which translates to a disadvantage of 4 frames for the defender)
I don’t know ,that’s just the way it reads to me. There are no negative on block aerials as far as I know.
+4 seems fair to me. His pressures still going to be annoying, but you’ll be able to trade him for better positioning with slower characters and straight out beat him with faster ones now.
I’m still not satisfied with the lack of Ryu nerfs… There’s no reason he should have -all- of the tools and be so safe all the time. Even Rolento, as annoying his safeness is, has his clear weaknesses. Ryu has -all- of the numbers, Ono was trolling hard when he dreamed up SFxT Ryu.
It also sounds like it’s harder to cross up with it?
At least that’s what I get from this line.
Harder to cross up at low altitude because you’ll hit earlier, yeah, but also means it’ll trade more often I think.
EDIT: Actually… I guess his collision doesn’t necessarily mean it has a hurt box. Guess we’ll have to see.
Twins dive kicks are - frames on block (spacing dependant).
It’s -4 for rufus from what i read. Disadvantage of 4 frames before he can block again.
What’s so different about this Ryu to his AE incarnation? He still has all of the same combos, minus the donkey kick.
this news is pleasing.
the game needs more news that the majority of people will be happy about.
not that balancing this early is necessary, but it shows that they are interested in actively supporting the game with more than money grabs.
i’d take early balancing and game tweaking over waiting 8 months for them to drop sfxt v2
Tools.
Sweep cancelling, fake fireball, safe on block Donkey kick, Wallbounce on EX.
Quick list for who I think deserves to be buffed and nerfed.
Characters that desrve major buffs:
Paul, Kuma, Yoshimitsu, Steve, Megaman, PAC-MAN.
Characters that deserve minor buffs:
Asuka, Bison, Poison, Hugo (buffs for on point but not for as a tag partner), Cole (arguable).
Characters that deserve major nerfs:
Raven, Rufus, Ryu, Ken (nerfs for his team synergy), Kazuya (but just to E/WGF).
Characters that deserve minor nerfs:
Juri (possibly major), Rolento.
Ugh, they once again have to find a way to stop Zangief from ever using his kick lariats, I loved the fact that it could hit crouchers and become a scrubby frame-trap sorta thing but now it’s useless. Doesn’t go through projectiles, isn’t an AA anymore, so there’s no reason to use it over the Punch one
Not to mention possibly the most retarded overall frame data in the game.
I’ve pretty much stopped hating on Ryu since around SSF4 and just learned how to play against him as best I can. Honestly the fact that after like 40 renditions of Street Fighter “experienced” players still choose to use him bewilders me but its up to everyone who they want to play as. I’ve just always felt that its way more rewarding to take a mid / low tier character and become a force to be reckoned with.
