Backwards Compability Petition Part 3, CvS2!

Ninja Edit by MrWizard: Part One accomplished, now lets do the same for CvS2 and MvC2!

GOGOGOGOGOGOGOOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOOG!

backcomp@microsoft.com

So the latest BC update for X360 was actually decent. We got Soul Calibur 2 and Inidgo Prophecy and Psychonauts.

It seems the BC team at MS does listen to fan requests. So lets start requesting Street Fighter 3 (Street Fighter Anniversary Collection).

Why?

Well, it’s the best SF ever. And it’s got Xbox Live support.

So email a request for SF Anniversary Collection to backcomp@microsoft.com !!

If we get enough emails going, maybe we can get this and other awesome 2D games from the Xbox1 playable on the 360.

sigh This is why software emulation sucks.

Done. Here’s hoping it becomes BC soon

They aren’t doing it. We’ve had like 8 threads about this already. Microsoft will never put out any of the 2d fighting games because of how you have things like SF2 Hyper Fighting on the Live arcade. Now, why would anybody buy that if they could just buy frickin Third Strike instead? Microsoft knows this, and they want you to buy Hyper Fighting instead, so they get money instead of Gamestop who you’d buy the used Anniversary Collection from.

Same goes for Capcom. They can force you to give them money if they make you buy Hyper Fighting on the 360, but they’d get NOTHING if you bought a nice, used copy of Anniversary Collection from Gamestop. Because of that, they have no incentive to have the game ported.

not only that, but when was the last time they updated the BC list before this new one?

a very long time ago

point is, only a small fraction is still BC, and it tends to be the best sellers. sfac is hardly one of em

Nah. I’d have to say that Anniversary Collection probably outsold at least SOME of the games on the BC list. Like Chicago Enforcer…or Toxic Grind…

…Which are likely on there just because of the ease of making them BC.

lol@actually believing that excuse.

They are apparently updating on a quarterly basis.

There’s a BC wishlist thread on Xbox.com where one of the people on the BC team takes feedback from the fans. It’s just that not too many people on there actually request SF: AC so it’s not very high on the priority list, I suppose. :wonder:

Have you got a link to that wishlist thread?

Anyway, there are a few games that are BC despite being for sale/planned for sale on XBLA or even as full X360 releases. Far Cry Instincts, Lego Star Wars II, Sonic Mega Collection, Half Life 2, etc.

Sending in email requests (particularly from unique IP addresses) can only help. Doesn’t cost you anything to do and maybe it will let them know that SFAC (and Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom 2, CvS2, etc.) have an active and interested fan base who would be well pleased if MS got them working on the 360.

I already did it…

And for the love of god, even if you dont beleive it, at least send the request anyway.

Yeah, an email doesn’t cost anything and it may produce a good result anyway!

Here’s the link: http://forums.xbox.com/132/2421706/ShowPost.aspx#2421706

To make things easier, just copy/paste this email and send it.

Fatghost, would you mind if I do the SOS thing in other forums.

This may sound crazy but most the forums that I frequent are Nintendo forums, but I can convince the people to send e-mails, just because.

Please, spread this whereever you can, get as many emails as possible.

I’d like to get as many as we can this week, then do it again in January (odds are the BC team are all on vacation now, so it would be nice to have them come back to a pile of SFAC requests…then again in Jan, again in Feb, again in March…the next update will probably hit in March-April, so we have to hit the ground running and keep the noise level up so they understand our NEED.)

Doesn’t matter if Jesus Himself came down and demanded this. It’s not happening.

Send an email anyway. Why do you think this is not happening?

You are emailing the wrong people, Xbox left it up to the devs to BC their games.

When did that happen? Devs were complaining that the opposite was true.
