The size of the cabinet is exactly the same as the original Vewlix except I made it slightly wider. I have played on a 2p version of the Vewlix and didnt like how my elbows were constantly parrying the other players. That is why I made sure it was part of my initial design specification to make it more comfortable.
The logitech badges wouldnt come off without a fight and destroying the mesh covering so I left them.
I too think this needs to be seen by everyone who stops y SRK either by sticky or on main page, my votes in. And i think the width is perfect, i agree on being to close and bumping elbows. Plus thats perfect for a 32" widescreen in there.
This cabinet is for myself and I would consider building more for other people if they wave the right amount of money in my face.
Heres a quick video I made, its primarily a slide show of images already posted but there are segments where there is video to show you how it all opens up and operates.
Wow I am speechless, this is nothing short of perfection, I have been trying to look at several logs in order to build my own vewlix knockoff and this beautiful work really just inspires me more.
Thanks for sharing B15
P.s. Taito should of hired you to design their new cabinet for Super
Given that some chinese vewlix copies will be sold at 2000 EUR shortly in europe, I feel that 2000$ for a custom job is a bit off the mark.
Just my 0.02 currency
Forgot to mention, that LCD picture viewer is simply awesome. I have one that has been gathering dust for quite a while. That’s awesome that you are using it to display the SSFIV logo and movelists! I’ll have to do the same and add MAME artwork, etc.
I don’t think it will make front page news. That seems to be filled with alot of random, kind of disappointing. Maybe I need to inplant some seimitsu ps14kns under my skin with some LEDs. I think that might just do it.
I was going up put the move list in the normal location on the cp but I thought maybe I want move lists for more games so went with the touch sensitive digital photo frame instead. When ever a new game comes out all I need to do is transfer the move lists to the USB memory stick. You can get them pretty cheap nowadays. Only mission I had was to find one with the buttons on the front.
well its front page news in my book. i have seen ppl try and i applaud them for their work and effort but you sir…you exceeded above and beyond. Its like others tried to make replicas but you made yours but with your own touch. I’ve seen your stick you make. Great work and craftsmanship. But this, this i lie not but inspires me to build mine own now which is what i want to do. Like i said earlier though. I will try it but i am trying for a 4 player so i have to figure out a couple more things before even getting started. But i nominate you for front page. I havent been here on SRK long enough to figure out how-to but standing applause. very nice
