this is one of my favorite ironman teams. i just wish the stealth armor was the same dark blue as taskmaster’s blue suit. not only would it match better, but it would also look WAY more incognito and just plain badass.

edit: sorry to the posters below. for anyone who cares, i had ghostrider/thor/ironman here before, but that team has been changed to thor/ghostrider/strange. it works MUCH better. haha

I think he’s saying his team consists of the worst characters in the game, or through these cryptic pictures he’s saying Iron Man will have a powered up mode based on Gold War Machine in the not-likely update to the game.

I think it’s the latter.

Haha when I viewed it on my phone I thought they were new or unreleased DLC costumes. If that is your real team all I can say is good luck, you’ll need it.

Hey guys, I’v just got back into playing me some Tony, but I need some advice. I want to run an ammy/IM team but I need either a solid point character or a solid anchor since I could run Ammy in either slot. I was messing around with Nova, Ryu, some Mag, and read some stuff about Joe but I am not sure. Any advice would be awesome

Mag ironman seems to be pretty popular. Joker and alukard run those two with drones. So you can find a lot of tech with those two by checking matches on YouTube. Nova is a great point character On any team and I feel that unibeam could help him a lot in the neutral game. I also think that his assist could help iron man out too depending on your play style. I always consider three things when picking forming a team:
Assists
Dhc synergy
Thc gimmicks

I feel that if you have a game plan and pick assists accordingly to cover weaknesses or help with that game plan you can make pretty much most characters work.

Would a Mag/Ironman/Dante team be good?

that’s my team… and I’m liking it atm. Works better than Mags/Tony/Doom for me… has an answer to pretty much everything.

I was wondering if anybody has an opinion on Nova/IM/Doom? I’m new to Ultimate and I like the way nova and iron man feel in this game, plus I know that you have to have a good assist so I picked doom. Any feedback on team order and assist choice would be awsome.

That team is perfectly fine in the order you’re playing it. Go for it!

Going to try to make SPencer(armor piercer or slant shot idk yet)/IM(repulsor)/Sent drones SPencer and IM can both be used to extend combos with each other and I guess they both work well with sent… Any opinions?

How do we feel about Dante(Jam Sesh)/IronMan(Unibeam)/Ammy(Cold Star). either Ammy or strider is going in the back.

What’s the best way to play Iron Man/Doom (Missiles)? When Cap dies, I’m not really sure on how to approach matches with Iron Man. Getting a close hit is pretty much luck, but zoning grants better results for me. What’s the better way to zone with Iron Man? Repulsor heavy zoning or Unibeam heavy zoning? If I want to lock down for missiles to get time for launch, I’ll do superjump H Smart Bomb since it sets up a huge wall to block people from getting in (except for projectiles). Should I be closing in slowly or holding my distance? I know that can be matchup dependent at times, but overall what the hell is Iron Man best at doing in neutral, besides being a super slow piece scrap metal for meter?

Iron man could use launcher slam as a forced ground bounce to continue with repulser after smart bombs. Nemesis could use repulser as a defense assist and if you time it right it is possible to use nemesis’s air s to cause a ground bounce for a combo. And unibeam is just there to help control space</blockquote>

Yeah, I’m liking Repulser myself. Overall it isn’t amazing, but it gets the job done.

Playing IM in neutral is mainly just about paying attention to your opponents, then reacting to their actions while respecting the range on their options. I can’t say much specifically towards playing IM + Missiles since I run IM + Log with a heavy focus on spacing so the advice might not xfer 1 to 1 so grain of salt and all that since my advice is coming from a much different angle than someone that plays with missiles. I know this is really effective when played with log, but the idea is log keeps almost everything safe and converts everything into combos on hits. I’m not sure if you have to add a middle step to cover to portion between missiles coming out and hitting to keep the spacing effective or what ranges you want to stay at to convert hits consistently.

On playing IM’s general spacing game, though, you want to stay at whatever range you can convert combos or pressure once missiles hit and pester with UBs or cr.H>UBs until you convince them to start jumping at you (if they don’t jump or advance, take the free chip and be super lame). Once they start jumping, If they’re doing something stupid and coming at you from SJ height you want to have RB waiting for them when they get to you (can probably convert if you do RB + missiles into a really late spread then dash up into jump loop?). If they start bunny hopping over the UBs, then you want to either meet them with a j.M into jump loops, j.H into fly/unfly H walls (use the frame advantage to dash back and continue neutral), dash into air throw, or RBs depending on the matchup and what you can convert from. Once they get within a range that they can punish a UB with a bunny hop>air normal or stuff an RB with something like a gamma charge/shield skills/charging star you want to try to SJ and air dash DF to the other side of them (once they catch on to this you make it a guessing game from SJ height if they start trying to rush to your landing spot and just dash DB instead of DF or Fly and pester them from SJ height.) Backed up with log, I’ll do a lot of spacing pokes with jump>ADF> j.mm or sj.ADDF>j.M/dH/S just to keep people from getting to out of hand and keep myself from falling into too much of a pattern but I’m able to use the threat of log to keep people from pressing too many buttons so it takes a little less setup than missiles.

Personally I don’t do a lot of SJ smart bombs since that’s one of the few things that doesn’t convert into a combo with log but if you are going to use those, try to use the jump>air dash up>SB>etc so that you can be calling missiles during the lockdown. You won’t be able to use this against people that can snipe him or dash under the SB spam, but it’ll add protection against teleporters and work great against anyone that tries to Up back out of the lockdown.

Running missiles means you want to look to capitalize on the lockdown on every safe chance so you’ll probably want to be doing a back and forth poke game, protect missile calls with UB/RB, UB/RB to try to lock them on the ground, air dash in as missiles start to hit, hi/low if they’re on the ground or dash back and repeat of they chicken block. Just try to keep in mind that you’re not going to get hits very often so you want to find ways to convert as optimally as possible and maximize the chances to turn his stray hits into full combos. I can’t say what that means playing him with missiles but just keep in mind that as long as you have missiles on the way, you have one of the best insurance policies in the game. If you want to play more rushdown oriented then just protect the missiles call then go ham until missiles actually connect. If you screw up, you have a get out of jail free card against most of the cast anyways and if you don’t get a hit, just reset the neutral and go from there.

Any using Iron Man with Strange Bolts assist, b/c i wanted to implement Tony/Stephen on the same team

Can any of u help me im kind of new to iron man but i picked him up because he workes well with viewtiful joe and after using him for a good day or 2 i really like him but i cant find a good assist for him if any one can help that would be great

so, being completely honest, does anyone here think that Iron Man could place top 8 at a major? Aside from Joker.

Also, curious but what are yalls opinions on Mags ( Disruptor) / Iron Man (not sure which to use) / Doom ( missles)
