I got beef with a bunch of people that let some dumb shit on the internet get out of hand, then when the rep is finally brought, ignore it and just laugh at the fact that yeah, you made some guy really uncomfortable away from his home. That sucks. Can’t we learn to take the high road?

This internet shit is dumb right? But when people try to bring personal attacks into it…there’s a REASON why it gets so heated. You gotta realize that YOU WERE NOT part of it, so how can you even understand the situation first hand?
I feel ya Mike, and yeah I wasn’t all caught up in it so you’re definitely right that I don’t get the whole picture…I’m sure I havent read all the posts and all the back n forth between the rain city and Dan; but I guess I’m just saying that even with all things considered, there’s a high road and a low one and from what I’ve seen the high road appears to be under construction or something.

Me too son! Good thing they put my ass in one of the later brackets. It is hard going from hitting switches to slapping bitches, breezies, and then back to gaming. The hardbody tactics came through big time. We bout it.
I don’t think that analogy is quite right, since even though there are people who don’t have much to do with it, that doesn’t mean we aren’t affected by having to watch it play out through time.
Instead random people, it would be more like if you were walking through your school or neighborhood, and some dudes you know or have hung out with before began to fight or something. I know they have their own beef or whatever, but that doesn’t mean I should be ok with it, does it?

There was rivalry and what not leading up to the Narrow’s regional, and after the dust was settled it seemed like everything was cool between us. Come the first SFIV tournament at Zach’s house, there wasn’t any animosity between the nations. Of course there was the thirst to take dan out of the tournament because come on, we gotta rep the city. Unfortunately that didn’t go down, and a few words were tossed around and that was that…
Then SFIV 5v5 was announced.
Everyone’s hyped, and most people want to get on the team. Cole had stated that there were no guarenteed spots on the team (besides the Captain’s spot for obvious reasons), yet Dan in a way was trying to justify that he deserved a locked spot on the team, no one was feeling that, and Cole was holding his word to the way this was going to be set up.
Dan comes out of left field with this:
Again, coming crazy at us like that and throwing an ultimatum in our face* isn’t a good idea. Miles of posts where people are arguing and saying this and that ensues, then it gets transfered to the Gameworks thread. Everyone’s read the most of it so I’m not even going to bother quoting or recapping except for the fact that, Dan made some personal attacks and disses towards Joshimitsu…what people on SRK don’t know is that Josh doesn’t play that shit, and honestly who can blame him. Seriously, Josh is one of the nicest people that I know, and at the same time I know never to cross him cause he doesn’t take shit from anyone. There was a stint a few months back where Paul Lee and Kuenai did exactly what Dan did and well, things came to a head at Keith’s I believe and it was quickly defused, they appologized and that was that from what I could tell.
So fast forward to the actual tournament and well, Josh’s post and Jacob’s post are pretty accurate as to what happened, Jsoh called him and Yummy out for the things that they were saying to him on the internet, they tucked their tails between their legs and headed for the hills.
To end this brief history lesson, if you are talking shit or going at one person in Team Seattle…you’re pretty much going at EVERYONE in team seattle, and we don’t like arrogance.
I will give the respect that Dan is a good player, I won’t give him the respect that he’s a good person. He had an oppertunity to be apart of our community (like how ATM spidertao is), but instead he just turned his nose up and walked by like we don’t exist, it’s a shame too because I know he is thriving to become a better player, and well to become a better player you have to play against other people wether you dominate on them or wether it’s close, or wether you are the one getting dominated on…but no one likes to be around an arrogant, gloating, childish asshole.
*Notice how I’m saying our/we/us, because what the new guys around here don’t or haven’t realized is, we are TEAM SEATTLE for a reason. We have each our backs no mater what, you’ll probably see it more at EVO because yeah there are personal beefs within our scene against a few, but you know what if I see them playing someone from another region, I and the majority of us around here WANT them to win and womp off on that opponent, because in the end they are repping the same thing…Seattle. And that goes for anyone that really posts on here, a fresh face as yourself and riki-oh, or and old geezer like me or Row.
Case in point, there’s a lot of people on here that do not like LTB, but when it was LTB vs Dan in the semi’s everyone wanted LTB to win because the big picture here is a Seattle victory. I mean (and this is NOT a stab at Paul Lee), I don’t know him well or anything like that, and there have been times that some of his posts made me dissatisfied, but when he was in the loser final in his first pool, I was right there cheering him on and wanting him to win, because I love to see people from here become victorious in ANY game, and most other people will agree to this.
The funny thing is that in the afternoon I was with this breeze and after we had lunch we had like an hour to kill before this movie was playing downtown. She was like, “Uhhh, we could go to gameworks or something”
i said “yeah we could do that i guess, i think a bunch of people I know are down there” she was like “really why?” “big street fighter tournament”
