Ithink mvc had like 32 people. Considering i never seen half of the players before, it was a really good turnout. There were only 10 for ssf4. It was the first time playing in over a month heh

Me = wolvie/leilei/taskmaster
Scumbag= mags/dorm/sent mags/sent/phx I believe that was his 2nd team
Desert dragon = shehulk/taskmaster/sentinel
Angelic= mags/dorm/sent

I love the mix up of teams - the one thing that seems nice about MvC3 is the ability for a wider range of characters to win.
agreed. i think so many characters are good in this game due in part to the massive gameplay engine changes that allows even non combo characters can still land good combos(cough…hulk…cough). everyone can do damage.

I have MORE than a few words about the tournament…
Suffice to say I was not happy about quite a number of things.

im sure they want to hear. Cant improve if they dont know whats wrong. they even apologized about the monitors not being the best. honestly, that was my only beef. And I understand that sometimes you just gotta deal with what is given to you.
i think munchi pretty much summed up the problems, that were already addressed. which was mainly the monitor issue, which can be easily resolved. and more reliable bracketing( tournament maker or other programs, on a laptop).
basically, its stuff that can easily be fixed. problems aside, it was fun to finally play mvc3 in a tourney. we have been going a while without one. so props to euphoria for doing it! and big props for making entrance 10bucks instead of 5. even if its a tourney i would have little chance of winning.
Now that my overtime is done, I need to start getting out to these events. Mostly because the terrible online gameplay is making me rapidly lose interest in MvC3

I’m thinking maybe pizza from costco again around 6ish. That seemed to work well last time.
I don’t really know how many expect. We have flyers floating all around Tucson. At comic shops, u of a, game stores etc. The fact that we have 10 signed up already tells me we might hit our cap of 50. Since we usually get like 1 signed up online when we do online registering :).
I’m curious how many of the Marvel 2 guys that we rarely see are playing 3 and if they will be coming down.
I know Sierra Vista will be coming too.
Anyway, I am excited and looking forward to feedback on all the arcade stuff. I hope to have the 4 player cabinet finished up by then running all those quarter classics like NBA Jam, Blitz, Simpsons, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, etc.

We may need to wait for AE for anyting SFIV. Just seems like no one is playing it right now. We can always setup a casual if we have the space on tournament day.
Evil Ryu was just bleh. I think that if they weren’t going to put anything new or exciting to play then they shouldn’t have put it in at all. We didn’t really need another shoto. I wasn’t excited to play SSF4AE at all. It was underwhelming and I would have rather played it at home where the game was essentially free to me.

I’m ready for AE. I’m starting to feel like MvC3 just isn’t the game for me.
So I have. A question for ps3 mvc3 owners that are also very familiar with 360 mvc3, POST PATCH. It’s well known now that since the patch hit last week that the 360 version took a noticable nose dive in performance. The main problem being that the game now freezes, literally for a fraction of a second, at random. Obviously this is a major issue. What’s funny tho, is I didn’t notice this at all at the gotham tourney. But then I realized, I’m playing on an og 360 and the tourney was on the slim 360.
So my question is, has any ps3 owners, that has experienced the random freeze glitch on 360, know if it exists on ps3 as well?
Mvc3 coded by backbone entertainment or some shit? Cuz these performance issues on both consoles are getting old

I see this happen maybe once Every 10 minutes. It may happen more frequently cuz I noticed that it does this in menus, select screen, etc…
Scott, I didn’t hear about anything during our Ranbats on Saturday night. All three are OG 360s and all were patched and had DLC.
Anyone at AIAB on Friday or Saturday could confirm this?
