Anyone have a 360 copy of mvc3 for sell?
Been sick as fuck for the past couple of days, bedridden and the like. Carlos, haven’t forgotten about the CE. Gonna grab it from you as soon as I’m well enough to make the trip out there. Thanks a ton for holding onto it for me.
Reece, you may already know this, but I found out that our PS3 dual modded sticks, when set to type A, is your button config. Luey and Shane showed it to me a couple days ago, it’s
L M a1
S H a2
when we have our ps3 TEs as type A in Marvel. Doesn’t help me much, but may be of some use to you.
Edit: Oh, and thank you all for the advice on dealing with divekicks. Haven’t had a chance to test it out due to being really sick, but looking forward to trying it again with some new strats in mind. Luey and ViolentJ (It’s Justin, right?), it was just plain 'ol divekicks, not trijump instant overheads. As in, superjump way high, then divekick down the whole way. The airthrow advice is interesting, because I can get a full combo off of it with Wesker assist. Bwahaha.
As others have mentioned, I still keep dropping combos due to the new button layout. I have been playing every single day since it came out and I’m still not used to it. I can’t get the MVC2 controls out of my head. I double tap L a lot and miss H because I stop at M sometimes, and when I do hit H, I sometimes forget to end it with S because I think that H will knock them to the ground. Like for Sentinel’s frying pan move, I keep hitting H for it even though it’s S. Going into fly mode with S in the middle of a combo just feels weird.
yeah i tried getting used to the type B layout. i just cant do it. The way my mind is set is i know my 4 attack buttons are the first 4 buttons on the stick(left to right). Some day i may try type B again, but for now. i gotta play the way that gives me the best results.
You guys sound like pad players =)
<3
Agreed…
I’m gonna make a big fat sign that says Type B Or gtfo at my house!
I think that the setup
L M A1
S H A2
was designed with the pad in mind b/c on the pad, the layout looks like
M
L H
S
finger placement then goes L M H if you’re playing on pad. Therefore on a stick, the L M A1 setup is IMO not intended to be used on the arcade stick. Preset A works perfectly on pad and Preset B works perfectly on a TE stick. The only odd one out is the modification people use, which is essentially Preset A but assists moved to R1/R2
Honestly didn’t think it was a big issue but having gone to multiple people’s houses, the button switching is getting to be a big deal.
Is RAFF still around? I have an agent in my class who plays Trials, and is interested in tournaments.
akuma31’s right. Capcom’s intention was A for pad, B for stick.
yeah but all the “A” heads around these parts don’t like to listen to reason or anything.
I love it when they say they play “default” but dont want to realize that type B was intended for sticks in this game…
even the guide says type B!
I don’t even play the game and I use B.
the only thing mvc2 about “A” layout is the assist lol. The launch is where short is and you have to do clockwise instead of up/down to complete air combos. The closest setup to mvc2 would be
A C A1
B S A2
S was a launch with RH or FP depending on character. some was forward and strong but those buttons are gone. The only problem I don’t like with that setup is doing Xfactor. At the end of the day no set up is going to stop you from getting bodied.

I dunno if I was misunderstood or not, but in case y’all didn’t know, mine and Reece’s PS3 TEs are wired differently (As in SF4 Type B) and so they conform to different layouts in Marvel as well. Jeez. And I don’t even play with that setup, I was just trying to offer some information I found!
yeah dual modding a ps3 stick to xb360 makes things really complicated due to analog lt and rt on a 360 pad pcb. not anymore tho! i gutted my old dual mod out and just got the solderless ps360 dualmod. i fucking pcb inside my stick, thats it, all digital buttons, no rt and lt trigger crap, those are digital too on this pcb =) both consoles default to sf4. i love this pcb.
with that said, anyone want to buy a cthulu board and imp?
I’m confused type B is
a b c
s a1 a2
right?
Before any says anything stupid, I have a hori with a ps360 in it.
mike, yessir
@ Reece: Yeah, man. I just figured I’d start on this game from what makes the most sense. And figuring out what super leads to what when I have any given character on screen seems pretty crucial to get down quick. I figure if I am gonna have a squishy-ish team, then I need max damage options on call.
@Violent J: Nah, I like Akuma a good deal so far, and charge moves are pretty much a no go for me unless that move is called Thunderbolt.
@Dr Dogg: I just don’t like how MODOK moves. Very strange. Funny ass character though.
dude this one is the best!

fair enough, but just so you know. she has 1 charge move and you won’t be using it.
