Just played Dan and his stupid ass Phoenix team. Run away with Magneto, call Morrigan assist, beat the shit out of me with Phoenix (Dan’s really good with her) and then X-Factored Dark Phoenix.
There is really stupid shit in this game, but the game feels incredibly loose and free. Some of dash mixups I’m doing with Zero are stuff that I could only dream of doing with Ibuki, it’s amazing and so much fun.
Oh, and I put Sentinel on my team. Am I doing it right?
Edit: SNK, I believe all TEs are Type B for the default TvC style button setting.

Thanks for the tips. Nothing final yet. At the moment it’s Zero, Wesker, and Sentinel. Zero and Wesker work really well together if I play it right, but I still need to learn how to use both of them on point. If I can replace Sentinel, I will, but at the moment I haven’t tried out enough characters that fit as well as he does.
Jon, if killing phoenix with the snapback thing doesn’t work, you could also try and time her out. It’s really funny with amaterasu and her slow super haha.
I think that’s my team too Jon, once I get the hang of wesker. Right now it’s Dante, Zero and Sent. I think I’d mostly be playing Dante, Zero, Sent, Wesker, and Magneto.

I am approaching this game like a wide eyed child. I am going to pretend that I can use Captain America and keep up with the rest of the cast… lol I tried that in MvC2… He seemed like crap in that game. I hope most of the characters can hang.

phoenix is rough. but you gotta make sure you snap her in or kill her before she reaches level 5. Save your xfactor for dark phx if he has a chance of letting her out. Xfactor will save your ass, and if she gets touched, shes done. plus you dont have to take chip abuse from all her crap. since youll most likely have sentinel on point and she’ll be within launch/super range. you chould be able to cancel into xfactor, out of blockstun and catch her with a launch, command grab, or super. should only take 2 hits max to kill her.
luey: wtf your guy’s button config is weirder than i thought. so you do magic series in a backwards C motion? im suprised cuz you marvel guys are so obsessed with making it as mvc2-like as possible, and that doesnt resemble mvc2. weird =)

This makes sense to me because I have my attacks on each of my fingers, and my thumb handles special attack(launch) and I shift for assist buttons. Also it makes S+A movements easy as I just use thumb and index finger and dashing/wave dashing is just index and middle. Man I hop that is right…
Angelic I suck at VS games, my mind hasnt grasped it yet. I never really got into mvc2 seriously so this is my first attempt to take a VS serious. and im already thinking about switching the team again. lol I gotta stick with one team and just play that team. The game is crazy, in a good way, and makes me laugh a lot.
I feel like I’ve been missing out by not playing this game yet. I still don’t even know how interested I really am. I might head to MGL later this evening, but I figure everyone is going to be playing marvel instead.
Anyway, when I do get around to buying marvel, I think Taskmaster, Wesker, Tron bonne looks like a potentially fun combo.

I kinda felt the same way you do, I decided to just jump in and enjoy myself. If I take to it, and I really enjoy it, great, if not, I am still having a bunch of fun with the game. It is super accessible and just fun to play with. The training mode really IS a whole bunch of fun, as are random casual matches. The game is cool.

People tend to misspell my name all the time, I got brainpipe from someone misspelling my old handle years ago. That sort of mentality is what I am trying to go with as well. I really don’t know how much I care for the vs games, but seems like its worth giving it a shot for the fun of it anyway. Some aspects of this game seem pretty damn fun, but I am also lazy when it comes to learning a new game.
