but im saying, if they fight a second time(which for the most part, does not happen much, if at all in a single tourney), then it would switch to a best of 7 to fully determine who deserves to move on, since the winner would overall have more wins vs that opponent, therefore, proving who is better in that tourney. i think it should be an option that should be explored

stream monsters? i personally dont know why stream chat is ever enabled. but its also the exact reason why, when running streams, you ignore stream chat, unless its to get feedback if the stream is working

Stream chat is pretty much the worst and i’m pretty sure those people are either 100% trolling or don’t play fighting games.
Why would the stream chat be disabled? That cuts off discussion/comments from people who are watching. Okay so in major events, the chat is too fast to read, but it’s still fun for the audience to interact with. The people who are running the event don’t have to pay attention if they don’t want to. Honestly some of the best moments happen when commentators are interacting with the audience such as Justin Wong @ the PDP MK tourney. There was some lols Friday when Markman was interacting w/ the audience.

ok thats great and all. but thats hardlyreally a part of the stream. they had downtime and needed something to do. ok thats cool. but when you got stream monsters constantly insulting everyone and everything at all times. its pretty ridiculous and makes streaming look really bad. we dont need a fucking stream chat while watching tv or anything do we? of course not. the stream chat is a very small % of the total viewers watching and a good majority of people dont talk cuz of all the insulting. so why have it at all.

cmon, stream chat adds nothing to the stream quality, and just degrades it. its ridiculous and you know it =) if you cant have a civilized chat(which is impossible on the internet with random people that dont know eachother) why have it. it degrades the stream into nonsense. theres a reason why streamchat is ignored completely by stream producers, and why commentators can NOT see the stream chat, except during downtime. its just constant insults by random keyboard commandos that think they know everything. dont need that shit

I always turn off stream chat for pretty much all the reasons Sabre mentioned. The stream monsters are always either saying that whoever’s playing sucks, or that they’re ugly, or that they’re a girl, or “who wants to watch this shit, when’s Marvel coming on” whatever and it’s idiotic. It’s full of nothing but the kind of people who like to troll and insult because they have nothing better to do.
dude. i go to live sports games all the time. its not the same thing. i dont see people talking shit to eachother in front of eachother faces and saying insanely insulting/obscene things to eachother. Its far from the same. theres a little similarity, ill admit, but its also so vastly different. I never hear much if any shit talk at sporting events, unless its to the opposing sporting team, and even then, everyone in the stadium is on your side cuz everyone rooting for the home team. theres no personal insults or anything else, and even if there is, its kept to their small group, not yelled in public. big difference, cuz they know if they do that, they get fucked up. but on the internet, everyone has their safety net and do whatever they want. stream chat is pointless. Thats why streams are using twitter and what not to get questions, cuz they know streams are out of control immature retards that dont appreciate shit. why make them happy? fuck them ungrateful fucks.

We all know G4’s coverage of EVO last year was awful, but it was a huge opportunity for the fgc and from everything I heard, the stream monsters left a really bad taste in the mouths of the decision makers at that company. In a situation like that, the stream monsters fully represent the fgc and potential customers for that company, its advertising partners, etc. If I were trying to attract outside sponsors/advertisers, the first thing I’d do is disable stream chat. Put a link to an IRC channel on the stream page or something if the stream monsters want a place to talk.
