lol Damn you’re just down the street from me. I’m on 35th and Tbird. Is your setup PS3 or 360?
it’s ps3, but at some point i plan on acquiring a 360, so eventually both.
@dreamvision602 - I would be down. I work out in Phoenix and as long as the gathering starts around 6-6:30 I will totally be able to make it out on a regular basis. Unless, Armando is holding something that is…EAST SIDE 4LIFE!
Jesus Christ this whole thread needs saving

Cool. I have a PS3 stick since that’s what Devastation and EVO always require (never any 360 support for fighters, lol). If I end up switching to days here at Grand Canyon I’ll probably hit up these sessions.
Might wanna consider a 360 stick, 360 is becoming the standard for fighters if im not mistaken. that is if your sole reasoning is the majors.
IMO the ps3 is a far superior system overall, less problems more options, hell the new one just finally included built in wifi, and some people even own ones without HDMI support (glares at scoots) but lets face it, ps3 online is lacking big time compared to xbox live, and thats huge for the fgc scene since many cant make it out often, or just plain dont know where to go if they havent found this site. Not too mention the ps3 has that chip which causes one frame of lag, and the only reason ill buy one is for fighting games and live.
wifi is not a good thing. the fact that 360 has wifi now, built in, will make xbl worse.
there is no standard. but if you plan to play online, xbl is where the players will be
Just get a 360 stick and dual-mod it… You can probably find some cheap TE sticks around these days, especially with the MvC and MK sticks coming out.
I’ll believe it when big time tournaments finally support Xbox. It’s not like either system is brand new yet it’s always been have a PS3 (capable) controller or GTFO for the big leagues. I used to play on Xbox but I got tired of not being able to enter tournaments (I’m not keen on soldiering…if it’s not “snap and click” like button swaps and art changes I won’t bother unless someone else offers to do it…which I would pay for ofc). That and I only have one stick so when my friends come over they have a pad that doesn’t suck to play with. Playing against people online who use a 360 pad while I’m using a stick feels like an unfair advantage I’ve no doubt that a good PS3 pad player can match a stick player whenever they want
Also I don’t really play other games online except on PC so I figured hey free online vs pay. I can’t really speak for SSF4 because I never really liked that game but for BlazBlue most of the good players I found were on PSN. I don’t know why that would be so different for Marvel and I’m sure I’ll find plenty of comp on PSN.
But hey yeah if anyone is offering dual mod services I might bite and grab a 360 stick when Mad Catz puts them up for one of their $99 sales.
What? Really? Man I can imagine how much of a serious PITA that is for SSF4 players with all those tight window links switching between systems. But online already has lag so what’s one extra frame? Hopefully the training mode lag simulator will make it easy for me to stick to certain combos that are easier not to drop online.
The lag simulation thing is nice but I really don’t think I’ll be using it excessively. Maybe I’ll use it as a warm up before online matches but there is no way in hell that I’m going to practice lag-combos.
On a side note, the only perk to PSN (imo) is that it is free. I played SSF4 a lot on both consoles and always had a much better online experience on X360 compared to PSN. Hopefully in the future, PS3s won’t need excessive router configuration in order to work somewhat okay on PSN (I recommend putting your PS3 in the DMZ of your router).
Finally, is anyone planning an MGL trip this week? I want to go out again but I want some solid competition instead of just 1-2 people.
I totally agree, I don’t wanna be purposely practicing combos with a different timing just so I can get them to work when playing online lol (then again, without spectator and replay, I might not be online that much at first anyway)
@Shaek, the easiest dual-mod I’ve seen is the TEasy Strike mod. It’s not quite plug-n-play completely but it’s pretty close. There’s installation videos on that page of the old version of the board, but the process is basically the same:
[LIST=1]
[]Unplug the connections
[]Unscrew the default PCB
[]Screw in the TeasyStrike PCB
[]Lay the default PCB on top
[]Clip it into place
[]Plug in all the connections.
[*]Done! Simple dual-mod with no soldering.
[/LIST]
Woah, thanks Sskaar! Ok, now I’m just gonna wait for a sale or maybe find a cheap 360 stick on craigslist. If PSN experience seems that bad then I’ll just buy the game again for 360 and pay for online.
shake-if im not mistaken, didnt evo switch format to the 360 this year for the games? And i could be wrong, but devastation might be doing the same, but emphasis on the might.
as far as online goes, its not about the experience, online ps3 plays just fine, its the comp, the vast majority of top players, and alot of AZ players are on xbl.
while i agree you shouldnt play fighting games on wifi (ive tried with ps3, and its terrible), my point was more of a rib shot to the fact that xbox is just now, almost 5 years later including a feature that has been on the ps3 since launch. wifi has plenty of other fantastic uses other than games, netflix on wifi is fantastic. ps3 at launch was far ahead of its time, just saying.
i’m down but you live too far… =[
where do you live B?
U need to buy a teasy plus a ps3 pcb. That’s 70+ bucks right there…just to eliminate soldering? It is easy but definitly not the easiest mod.
If you already own a 360 stick, all you need to do is buy the TEasy-Strike board, which comes with the dual strike board, AND the TEasy board, total is $50.
Just off of 7th Ave and the 101
SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV???IV ???
Bye Bye Jump MP.
And the damage Nerf doesn’t look that bad on paper.
E. HONDA
Let’s talk about basic attack changes from SSFIV to the Arcade Edition.
First, the hitbox of [Diagonal Jump MP] is slightly changed.
There is no change to the front size, which makes it easier to win against anti-air techniques.
SSFIV Hitbox
SSFIV: AE Hitbox
[Diagonal Jump HP] is now 100 damage
[Far Standing HP] stays 120 damage until the 3rd frame, after 4th frame is now 80 damage.
Also looks like I was right on the late Standing Fierce as well.
56 bucks still a little pricey for what it is but ill order one maybe this week to test it out.would like a mod with leds working correctly for both systems.my biggest draw back is this is pricey for only being able to use it in a madcatz.
What, you bringing two RedBulls this time girly mouth?
