Thanks again man. I only quarter backed the stream and tourny. And like any good QB, I gotta give credit to the people that made it possible for me to run it as smooth as I could aka EVERYONE there! Come time to start the tourny, people were stopping their casual matches, freeing up stations and lettin me know when there were open stations available so that I could assign matches as needed. I kept asking different ones check and see if “such n such” match was goin on, and people were VERY helpful. Much appreciated!!! Also, much props to my camera tech lol. I dont know how many times I asked Jon to fix the camera angle, thanks man!

There was a tournament yesterday at LAN Speed Gaming. That had significantly better competition than the Bookmans tournament.
There’s another one at LAN Speed Gaming on June 12. Sign-ups start at noon, tournament starts at 1pm ($1 entry). It’s the same time as the MvC3 Ranbat.
Before that, there’s an MK tournament at Phoenix Comic Con on the 28th at 9pm. However, we’re not running it so I don’t have any details beyond that small bit of information.
I’ve heard rumblings of a real tournament ($5-10 entry) going down for MvC3. If that happens, I’d expect MK to be added to the roster as well. Not sure when or if that will take place though.

Naw, MK is pretty legit. I just dont want to stop playing marvel long enough to learn it, im using umk3 nightwolf tactics which amazingly still work in mk9, hes just alot slower so its not quite as effective.
and yes robb, you bastard, you spammed the same damned move over and over on me, while i was trying to figure out if i could punish it, cant imagine a move like that to be safe, which now i know it was not, but you sure abused the shit out of it.

Well im back in AZ. I watched a toooon of the stream and will prepare to post some thoughts and comments when I get off work but for the most part the stream I feel is top shit and ready to be shown.
With that said I can’t wait to play marvel again. OR scene wasn’t big by any means and surgery kicked my ass too.

Right on Dana, I was watchin some of those at work the other night.
Also, people…LETS GET SOME FEEDBACK FROM THIS PAST SATURDAY. What do we need work on, and how can we keep the improvement goin?
One thing I can think of is mainly towards those that are told that they play on the stream station next…We gotta keep constant players on the stream. After watchin a bit of the archive, there is often too big of a gap between the one match finishing and the next two players gettin seated and ready to begin button checks. It did improve as the night went on, but we can still get it better!
Also, good games to Arnul last night…fuckin 100 to 50. Run back next weekend! lol.
I think the commentary still strayed a lot at the start…i think the first match where i listened and thought to myself “That’s how commentary should be!” was the match between MeanMeanPork and Haz. YOu guys stuck to talking about the match and who was playing rather than paying attention to chat or whatever random crap you guys were saying. And i agree with the fact that there was way too much time inbetween matches on the stream. But for sure better than the previous weeks guys. Keep up the awesome work.
Someone posted above that the 2p stick is jacked, plus no one really goes to MGL anymore. Gameworks is your best bet, tho people only really go on Thursday nights.
A casual station during tourney?
Thank you to Haz and Reece for running such a smooth tournament and stream on Saturday. You guys did a great job, and being done in an hour and a half is pretty crazy.
I enjoyed commentating but I know there’s a lot to work on. Need to talk louder and be more focused on the match. Still learned a lot, especially about commentator chemistry and knowing when to do a play-by-play, add color, and avoid stepping on the other commentator’s toes. IMO Diante exemplified all of this, I encourage folks to try to find the archived video of the matches he commentated on. Hopefully we all can learn from that, and I’m still on board with the headphones idea.
Oh, and I played like shit that night. It’s nobody’s fault but my own, I don’t know enough about how to deal with certain strategies in this game with my current team. As whacky as it sounds, I need to approach more patiently in this game, it’s much more meticulous than what im used to.

im curious to know what match your talking about…? were you referring to the 2v2: for the princess vs cheech and chong…?
commentating is rather difficult, not about the match or the game but with the co anchor. I enjoyed commentating with reece and muji about the game and the matches, enjoyed shooting the shit with shane and dana, and enjoyed diantes hype. Each pair of individuals that use the mic will bring a different feel to the commentary and will have to adapt to each other. As far as the chat is concerned I could give a shit about it UNLESS those in there are asking intelligent questions. Reece did a good job of being attentive of those type of questions.
