Haggar assist is what got me kicked out of the tourney. I was not used to playing against it and I blanked out on what I needed to do (I should have thrown my Storm assist out there) That shit was so random, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind at all. Fucking Sentinel. Even though the general community is apathetic to him now and have taken their pitchforks and torches to Phoenix instead, but I’m behind or something because I don’t know what to do to deal with him.

My issue is not knowing how to approach him, when I go for an instant overhead I get hit by an S, and when I dash in and block the S, I block a c.M instead that cancels into fly and puts him on the offense again. I also ran into the issue of a Sentinel opting to hold up forward and mash H, I don’t know what to do to stop him from doing that. I could have sworn I saw him armor through the fireballs I threw at him and then I got punched in the face and combo’d. Anyone got any pointers?
Also, Armando, you lost to Shuma Gorath? The irony, my friend! And don’t blame it on your stick! You already get wins without using any braincells, you can get by without using some buttons!
Edit 2: Thinking a bit more about it, maybe I can block an S, dash up and throw him? Is the S unsafe enough on block for me to pull that off without eating a c.M?

Yeah I run into the same problem. You have to be really careful which button to press on him b/c of his punish ability but unfortunately all that goes out the window once we’re fighting.

Yes standing S is very unsafe, if the sentinel is jump h/m happy you either need to back off and fire projectiles and zone him out, or depending on your character you may have other options like beating him in the air, dashing under to catch with cr. light. Once you have sentinel grounded and your in his face you can do normal rejump loops with wolverine or half the cast that have them. Go in training mode and set sentinel to crouch and find out what normal jump moves you have that are overhead and can cancel to another normal move before landing (stops super armor this way) and you can use that to apply pressure, then place a small gap in it and throw. The thing about sentinel is his hitbox is so big so its very easy to take advantage of instant overhead rejump loops on him.
I can’t deny the fact that I lost, but my stick really is messed up in all seriousness.
Can you take a look at it? Something is wrong with the cabling on the inside.
The top three buttons (LMH) don’t work and if I spam the 4th top button I can sometimes get the other three top to work.

The ranbat was fun today. Hazem, congrats on your placing man. You put a lot of work into the game so you gotta see some results sooner or later. Scott, good games man. I was bummed about how our last match went down when you caught two of my characters. It’s all good tho man, it just means I have more room to improve and more work to do.

Sean, yeah its always shitty when the final match goes that way. It would have been worse tho if i hadnt accidently done level3 while waiting for spencer to come out. That gave you a good chance to come back, which you almost did, i was getting nervous at that point haha
