Ranbats? hmmm… please for the love of God… dont make them during the week. weekends (fri thru early sunday is preferred…)

All for them tho!!

my only questions are… how is the lagg if at all between systems and can ya do my MAS? O_o

I WILL PAY YOU IF YOU CAN. eff fast food. we’re talking quality here =]

said who? if yer waiting yer turn im pretty sure its there. MvC2 has it. Kinda backwards if 3 doesnt…

Silly question… button config for mvc3 is wonky if you’re used to mvc2. I’m saying this because I don’t want to be at a casual session and people are always changing their buttons. The buttons right now are

a b c
S a1 a2

the mvc2 setup for mvc3 would be

a c a1
b s a2

I put this setup because it flows naturally for an air combo. I’m going to try both and find out which one is comfy. If default isn’t to bad I’ll go with it, but from my experience playing it at evo it was really wack lol. The main goal is for casual games to run smoothly. If we are going to have crowds of 10+ I don’t want to wait for button testing every other match.

On the subject of dual-modding, if all you’re after is PS3/360 compatibility, Focusattack.com sells the Akishop dual-platform PCBs now, which straight-up replaces whatever PCB is currently in your stick, and requires no soldering. So I think it’s a little easier to install than a Chimp setup. I can attest that it’s balls-easy to install if even a moron like me can do it.

Because you simply wire your stick and buttons directly to it, it shouldn’t matter whether you’re starting from a TE, SE, or cardboard box.

Then default is necessary then. Its supposed to be the first layout. I hate it as much as you do. But we gotta adjust.

Your marvel set up thing would make more sense if there were kicks and punches again, but that isn’t the case. Almost every time there’s a game that uses ABC and shit like that (KOF, Melty Blood, Blaz, Arcana, TvC) the default configuration has ABC sequenced horizontally, so the new configuration isn’t that unreasonable. I agree with Scott. Just learn the default config.

OR

Never lose.

Keres- that’s the ps360 pcb I posted a few pics of.yes its super easy.I perfer chimp because leds still work and auto detect. But yes ur right it is easy. Its also very clean.

Los- yes I can do ur mas. There is no lag.

Also…if anyone has a octogon gate for a jlf let me know.ill buy it off u. I need it asap tho please.

If anyone is looking for mods for their sticks just text me at 602-689-9685. Please let me know soon because when mvc3 is here all attention will go to that!

Honestly, I’m going to setup my buttons however suits me best. I don’t really give fuck about time wasted. If players can use a PPP or KKK button. I can use whatever layout I want.

That being said I will probably use

a c a1
b s a2

It makes the most sense to me.

Danny I told you I have one. I’ll find it right now.

Hook it up then

I also have an octagonal gate. Let me know if interested.

Dont hate on the vortex!! your missing the j.fp.

I have a ps360 in my stick, danny installed it but it is really easy. So far its fine. I would have preferred to chimp but we had compatibility issue with my hori so we just used that instead.

And ur gonna be mad at what I found out a couple days ago :frowning: that black ps3 of the hori…common ground.

Anyways…pics of mikes ps360 mod.

You have a chimp for sale, mike? It’s sure like to see this furry, little creature. Jk… …but seriously…

Its actually in my te.i traded him my ps360 for his chimp because of the problems we were having.

Ll should have more chimps in stock this weekend tho and ver2 of the chimps are going to be stocked soon

I dunno. I think its a very bad idea to go non standard. I understand trying to mimic mvc2 layout as much as possible. But in this game, not even the mvc2 layout will make sense. Most of you guys haven’t played any mvc3 yet. You will be in for a very rude awakening to find out how drastically different the game is.

You can argue that others get their ppp and kkk. But there is a fault with that. Those players still conform to default layout and don’t severely gimp playtime. You have to factor that the control scheme and combo flowchart resembles ggxx and bb way more than it does mvc2. Like ray said, there are no punch and kick buttons anymore. The game doesn’t follow the conventional magic series of Combos. Can you magic series? Sure. but only on a basic level. Many Combos go out of button sequence. You might start the combo with d/f+C then chain into f+A. Does the psuedo mvc2 layout make sense for this, no way at all.

It’s going to require insane re training either way you look at it. So why bother to re-learn in a non standard format? That just screws you over. What happens if there is a tourney that forces the standard to cut down time? Or what if an arcade edition comes out? Do you just not play cuz of stubborness?

Do what you will, but I think you might be gimping your options cuz you can’t move on to something different.

Its the assist bottons that are the problem…not the attack bottons. Mike played mvc3 at scr and that is what we thought was one of the hardest things to adjust to was not being able to use one finger movement for both assists and instead had to do a complete hand movement to get assist 1 out.the launch will be the perfect spot lower middle because ur either going to hit it off the start or a large percent of the time will be in your fluid combo.to have to hit an assist 1 during combo in its default location is hard.

I would rather have the old mvc2 layout as well because it has a nice flow to it; light medium heavy laucher/exchange feels very similar to the old magic series and i would rather use that system.

The only real problem I see with both layouts is wave dashing…
NEW format its the top three attacks that result in a command dash which is convenient UNLESS youre dashing and calling your assist 2 at the same time; that config results in the awkward use of ones pinky. Attacking with heavy and an assist simultaneously also might become a problem.

Using the old format would result in command dashing with thumb fore and middle fingers leaving your ring to call an assist.

Both layouts create problems…

Personally Im not sure which one Id rather use…

@Carlos: what are your thoughts on the button layouts, and what style are you planning on using…?

Carlos is going to use his masv stick…he can’t break old habis so he will use the layout the marvel players are talking about :stuck_out_tongue: jk carlos

I’m 99% sure you can dash in MvC3 with any two attack buttons, not three.
