i think hazem’s true goal, is to get all games on the stream. as long as there are enough setups, running one at a time, can work. and just starting the next game tourney towards the tail end of the current game(if the scheduled time for the game to start, is approaching, that is)

heres the thing. you read this thread bryan. you knew there was a tourney, you made your opinions on it too, you like to defend the mk scene, and thats fine. my problem is, why didnt you post up on tym or trmk and let them know, to help spread the word? Should hazem posted it up on those sites? sure. but howcome you didnt spread the word?

That doesn’t really explain how the BB players heard wind of this and still came out as opposed to MK9. Do you really think they cared if they felt out of place there when the event specifically said “SSFIVAE, MvC3, and MK9 tournament?” The event wasn’t just for Capcom games, it was for the unity of AZ players for all games. Capcom games just has a bigger showing because predominantly it’s always been like that. I think this is the start of something big and that you shouldn’t get discouraged or mad because of some trivial jokes. Sabre said it best, it’s time to man up and stop looking at these things as “Capcom events” cause they aren’t.

Exactly. this wasnt a capcom event. it just so happens that capcom tends to have more active games in the scene.

While i dont play bb or mk9, or may not care to play either. I respect them enough to want to see them grow. I had a blast talking BB while watching a lot of the matches at hazems. It was great to see BB come out and represent.

but once again, i am elitist, so this cant be true.

Theres two types of people in this world.
People who bitch and complain and never try to do anything about it, and then there’s people who man the fuck up and do something.
People from the MK Scene knew this shit was going down. Maybe not the entirety of the community but at least a few did, clearly you dr.dog.
Why didn’t you help spread the word? why not post up a link or tell them what kind of stuff is going down?

What the fuck did you expect to happen if you did nothing to help the word get out to your MK scene about a MASSIVE gathering? I hope it was nothing because that’s exactly what you got. It’s not your job to promote the tournament that happened at Hazem’s place, but you damn better not be bitching to us if you did nothing to help. You don’t get that right if you just sat there and complained about it without lifting a finger or writing a post.

I think it’s funny you shit on SRK and the “CAPCOM” scene for not catering to other games when we hosted a massive blazblue tournament that day. As Robawtninja stated, the blazblue scene MANNED UP AND DID SOMETHING about it and came to a tournament titled “AE, MVC3 and MK” and ran their shit without a hitch or any bitching. It was awesome.

I really hope more people form the MK scene read SRK because your a terrible face to their community. As for if my other comment was necessary, of course not, but that’s where my sparkling personality comes in !

BB community caught wind of the tourney through 1-2 players that happens to go to srk, and spread the word to the bb community, and they made it happen. much respect. But what did dr dogg do? especially when he chimed in with his input in regards to the tourney? absolutely nothing. Maybe it wasnt worth his time cuz it wasnt a devastation ran event(not a diss to the dev guys)?
I dont think anyone here wants the mk scene to fail, thats just idiotic, except maybe arnul, but hes a dick!!! haha. get your head out of the gutter!

Hung out with Git_Thrown yesterday and today and we trained hella hard. My game’s improved a bit from watching and playing so much. We probably got over ten hours in this weekend. All and all good shit.

Well, after 2 hours of dealing with the most obnoxious “please hold” music ever, (FUCK YOU BEST BUY!) and dealing with blatant lies from the Fry’s Electronics Reps…I ordered my ASUS VH236H Monitor tonight via 2-day shipping…should be here in time to bring to Haz’s on Friday. Hopefully I can also get my 360 fixed by then too, so I can bring a full monitor/360 setup to help =D

We will be hosting our sixth Mortal Kombat tournament at ManaWerx this Wednesday (August 24th) at 8pm. The cost to enter will be $5.00. After the tournament is over there is no problem with sticking around to play casuals afterwards.

Tournament rules will be your standard best 2/3, double elimination with winners/losers/grand finals being best 3/5.

The tournament will be played on PS3, with the most recent patch. Rain and Kenshi are allowed, however Freddy Kreuger and Skarlett are currently banned until the next patch.

This is the last tournament for the month of August. The September schedule will be:

• Wednesday, September 7th: Mortal Kombat 9 Tournament
• Wednesday, September 21st: Mortal Kombat 9 Tournament
• Wednesday, October 5th: Mortal Kombat 9 Tournament

…needless to say they had ABSOLUTELY NONE in stock, they don’t even carry it online. Another interesting thing to note…the person I talked to on the phone was a woman…hmmm. lol

then when I checked for the AW2210, the only one they had in stock was returned because it had multiple dents, one the size of Texas and the other the size of the Grand Canyon located in the direct center of the screen…hurray for customer service! =D

the alienware monitor is tight. even better with input lag, its pretty sick. i actually want to get one of those

Yeah the Alienware was my first choice, since the stand is adjustable in every direction and there is no light emitting from the screen edges when the screen is black apparently. Plus it just looks sexy in general. Been workin on that Ultra 2 scotty, its comin along, im sure as time passes I will become comfortable with it, right now I’m just drilling it into second nature so I can at least attempt to use it when I get a chance to set it up. I’m bringin the new asus and new ultra 2 to Haz’s on friday hehe

Yep. I’m calling Triple J Electronics tomorrow to see if they can’t fix my 360 before Friday, the disc tray is broken, so technically I could bring it even if it doesn’t get fixed, it would just be a huge pain. Gotta pick up a copy of AE fr 360 as well, can’t wait for Friday!

I just realized my 360 (The original 20 gig model) doesn’t have an HDMI port, just the HD cables. Will this be a problem for the tournament?
