So you base the entire community off of aris? Wow ok. Does everyone have tunnel vision? It’s not the fgc, its anything that’s male dominated. And competitive gaming in general, is mostly male. It also happens everywhere in real life too. There’s a reason every workplace had mandatory sexual harassment classes. To say its just the fgc is insane
What aris did was completely wrong, i coulda swore I mentioned that already. But if no one is listening behind the scenes, then you put them on blast in the public. So in that sense, She could have done more. Don’t let them get away with that shit.
Yeah, it’s definitely not just the fgc and I think Scott’s right that the vast majority of responses I’ve seen from the fgc (srk, neogaf, pro players, etc) have come down on the right side of this. There’s always going to be trolls stirring things up in any community.

That video is crazy. What a fat asshole he is. Like i understand i said she had a nice butt. But never would i just sit there and talk about her body like that, especially if she is there. It makes me think that Aris has probably never had an actually relationship with a women.
I only skimmed through that video, but he was also following her with the camera zoomed in on her ass and thighs saying he’d make her wear the horse head if she didn’t do what he said. (making players wear the horse head was part of aris’s manager power) That sounds completely ridiculous now that I type it out, but we’re obviously looking at it from the outside.
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I’m not at all trying to say that this is something unique to the FGC. It’s pretty common among any male-dominated community, especially when you add anonymizing factors like stream chats and forum handles.
It’s still just as stupid and it’d be great if nobody did it, but the FGC is far from alone on that. And, as Gunrobot said, there are a fair number of people who have condemned Aris. Still a depressing number who haven’t, but you know, at least it’s not all bad.
tl;dr lots of people are shitty, and that sucks. Some people are less shitty, and that’s nice.

My thing is, I just can’t see Capcom not doing anything about this if they were approached. I mean there is physical evidence of the harassment online. So it wouldn’t be a her word vs his word. He would lose that battle with the quickness. And considering the producer was surprised she forfeited further tells me that she didn’t do very much to handle the situation. Also, this can be a huge legal battle for Capcom, there’s no way they wouldn’t step in. She had all the power in the world to win this situation and stay on the show. But she chose to just leave. You want this type of thigh to stop, then don’t run from the problem, and face it head on

Good question. I was shocked to see that too. Looks like all that changed was they put her in Valle’s room and Sherry in Aris’ room. Maybe somebody at Capcom did some damage control with her?
From what I can tell at least Sherry has an existing relationship with Aris so maybe that’s why they swapped them.
ok so i watched that video you posted. Im sure there are more. but here is where my problem is. Was aris a bit excessive and creepy with the comments? for sure. But here is my other problem. Miranda was inviting that behavior. She was basically participating in the whole thing, laughing at it, basically encouraging Aris to keep going, making him feel that its all fun and games and that it’s harmless. Not once did she really ever tell him to stop or anything. Not saying that Aris’ constant badgering of her bra size and smelling her is tolerable. But the woman also has to be clear to him that it isnt acceptable. And she didn’t do that at all. So he thinks there’s no harm at all.
And this is where sexual harassment, to me, can be a big joke. A lot of women love the flattering comments and stuff and mostly encourage it by egging the Male on by wearing revealing clothes and laughing at the jokes. Then all of a sudden one day the woman doesn’t like it and the dude gets in trouble, even though she set the boundaries prior.
I really think she brought this on herself. She allowed it to happen. That’s on her, IMO
