A bit late, but Haz’s was fun. I will bring my Xbox to every event from here on out to avoid that stuff. I also feel that we should be willing to mix consoles if needed. I know some choice people aren’t down to play on PS3, but for those that are there’s no use in wasting a setup if both players agree. We could just put a little asterisk next to people’s name on the bracket and when we’re running it, if there’s an asterisk by either player’s name we won’t run it on PS3.
I played terribly in SF4 that night and I don’t even want to talk about Marvel, but commentating was sooo much fun. However, I know I can be a mic hog and I apologize for that. Regardless, I’m looking forward to improving the commentary to leave less blank spots and mesh well with the co-caster.
I don’t personally have much of a problem playing ps3 AE. But I do have a problem going back and forth between both versions in the same tournament. If both players agree to play their match on a different version, then that’s cool. But it shouldn’t be mandatory. I know you new school guys probably don’t understand yet. But having to go back and forth between versions, every match and having to adjust to that 1-2 frame difference constantly, will seriously screw you over in a match when you start dropping 1-2 frame links. You may not feel the lag difference, but you can tell its there when shit is getting dropped or you AA and the dp loses or wins more due to different timing.
It’s just a matter of getting the appropriate consoles. The communication wasn’t there in the tourney description. It just said to bring consoles, but didn’t specify how Many of which were needed, nor did it say which console each game was running on.
That’s one of the things that will easily get fixed. Just a simple communication error.
Haz, sorry I didn’t call yesterday. After getting done with everything, I was so tired that I went into lazy mode
Yo scott, I’m not if haz asked you or if anyone else has, but my friend has video of you and Air captured when you played him at evo. It’s great quality. We just wanted your approval for him to load it up to youtube.
I’m not arguing that there’s no difference in versions, at times the difference is huge. What I’m pushing for is giving players the option to speed up the tournament if they’re willing. Chances are we’ll have another tournament where we’ll be running late, and if we ever have an instance where we can get some matches done with an open PS3 station and BOTH PLAYERS AGREE (That’s important!) then we should. Obviously last Friday is an extreme case and we’ll all be doing our best to have enough 360s for next time, but I remember playing someone in Marvel at 4 am who had been waiting for the tourney since 6 pm. If I were him I would have been really pissed.
I understand the desire for an optimal amount of setups and to standardize everything, but if we run into a situation where we have 2 setups with 35 people again we should at least leave the option open. You’re completely free to opt out and I probably will as well if I make it to the later parts of the bracket, but the option is still there. New school or not, nobody wants to sit and wait for their tournament for 10 hours.
Also, IBUKIIIIIII. I’ve gotta say, I’m so incredibly surprised that she’s in this game. I could have sworn that they were gonna pick some more ST mainstays.
Little known fact, I’m starting to despise using her vortex and so I’m glad that it’ll be useless in SFxT due to the fact that your opponent can tag out on the ground. At least then that’ll give Capcom an excuse to buff up her normals. So excited!
Yoroitoshi as her super makes me wonder though. Putting in a command throw super in a game where throws are nonexistent? Ew. Make it comboable please!
Oh man though, target combo into neckbreaker tag cancel and catch them as she’s dropping them? So badass! Or Tsumuji lows tag cancel into Chun Hazanshu for an unblockable? When does this game come out again?
