Are there any places like a rec center that are willing to rent out the space (for a decent price) for a few hours? If that is the case, events could be held there fairly easily. Even a high school gym or something, so long as it has outlets for multiple set-ups and other electronics to keep everything running. Just an idea, however, I don’t really know the situation at all or if that is truly a plausible solution.
*on a side note: Anyone hosting casuals this weekend? If so, where at and what time?

Sometimes people need to realize that “just words” can carry consequences. If Haz is hosting the event, he can ban who he wants. If you constantly talk shit, and get belligerently drunk, sooner or later that is going to cause some amount of backlash.
I don’t know the whole situation, nor do I really care to get myself too involved, but constantly shitting on people isn’t the best way into the heart of your fellow man. Haz has done an enormous amount for the community, so I don’t care about his motives. The bottom line is his contribution is huge, so I can’t say I take kindly to people shitting on him.

@brainpipe: that’s why I stated that it is HAZ’S HOUSE and he can ban who he wants and i realize that my opinion is biased because I’m Arnold’s friend but it doesn’t mean I’m wrong. Why not UAT we used to. Have them there and that place is closer to most people.

There are sometimes tournaments and whatnot hosted a UAT(a private university that you should never go to because it sucks dick) and idk why it’s not used more T-Dot is a well known and respected student and former president of the fighting game club there and as far as I can tell we get to use the venue for free it has pretty damn good Internet and a hell of a lot closer for most people and using it a lot more would really fix pretty much all of these problems.

You are not wrong in that people can say what they want. What I am trying to illustrate is that sometimes people have to accept the consequences for their own actions. Actions, apparently in this case, coming in the form of words.
So, who is really the bitch here, Haz for being tired of getting shit on, or Arnul for acting like a child when his problems are a result of his own actions?
And I say this under the standpoint that Arnul has generally been nice to me and I enjoy shit talking with him. I’m not looking to make enemies here, but he gets drunk and acts like a petulant child week in and week out. Often to the point where he is legitimately getting into arguments and crossing the line of friendly shit talk. If he can’t handle the fact that people aren’t going to put up with that forever, then that is on him.
Arnul, like is said. I don’t know the entire story, and I figured there would be more to it. Either way. It’s not my business, I probably shouldn’t have even brought it up. I’d rather remain neutral. All I hope is for reconciliation in the future. Holding long term grudges sucks.
I’m personally down with uat. I live close so I obviously like the idea. I’m sure Tucson is too, saves them 30minutes. My only beef with the place is the AC, or lack of it most times. And it ends up being sweaty smelly sausage fest… place desperately needs Windows. If haz can manage to bring stream equipment. I don’t see why not
Never has haz ever come up to me and said that I’ve talk to much shit lol, he incouraged it when I did to Armando,luey, Dan ect. Only once ever that I remember did haz tell me to please lay off of Dan cuz he was crying so much. Which happens alot to some of you because you have soft skin, I never get personal with anyone unless you cross that line and those of you have I have already dealt with. As before the issue of me getting drunk is not the issue, I always keep the shit talking to a gaming level. Don’t try to get personal with me cuz you mofuckas automatically lose in that area.
As before this is strickly a personal reason why that fraud is banning me and you dick riders who have taken his side and saying the bullshit about drinking and talking smack is ridiculous. Go to any other tournament out of state and see if there aren’t any players just as bad as me or worst lol. Shit talking is the reason why we even play this shit, stop being a little bitch.
I’ll have to speak to Haz and T-Dot to see if UAT will work. Couple issues though, we will need to start way earlier, can UAT hold 50+ people? And can/will Haz bring his equipment. This ranbat season is not just me it is me and Haz hence why its called hAZbats so I cannot make these decisions by myself. I am truly sorry for both parties for what has happened, which I really don’t know what happened but all I know is a friendship was lost which sucks big time :(.
For all you new people please do not let this be a deterrent to show up and have some fun with the rest of us. For the people that have drama with each other, try to keep it private these kinds of things are one of the many reasons why new people will never show up.
We got one last tournament this season lets finish it with a bang! After this season is over I am going to take a 3 week-ish break before starting season 2. One of the things I will be thinking about is the possibility of dropping AE2012 and running just UMVC3 and SFxT. If you feel I shouldn’t I would love to hear your argument, but with the lack of attendance each week its just taking time away from other games, trust me I would love to keep it since I enjoy the game but if we can only pull 18 people last tournament with 6-7 coming from Tucson then that’s way to low.

If you say there is more to this, then I’ll just take your word for it and butt out, but you should know that you act quite differently when you get drunk. There is are phases where you go from jovially inebriated to just belligerent and mean spirited.
Soft skins aren’t the issue, when you can’t keep yourself in check, it wears on everyone.

All i am saying is that no one should ban anyone from a community event for anything less than physical violence. I have an example with you in it. Idk if its really what happened but I heard isaac talked so much shit to you that you looked like you wanted to punch him and Isaac did not get banned after that. Regardless the only point I’m trying to make is that neutral venues are the way to go so personal bullshit. Doesn’t get in the way. I don’t think its fair that ONE PERSON can completely oust another for personal reasons now if you guys want to take a vote and Arnold gets banned then by all means ban him majority rules right?
