I was watching the archives on the WNF stream and when UltraDavid brought that up to Seth Killian, Seth was really quiet about it and there was a vague hint that things were gonna change. My prediction is that you’ll only be able to dash cancel EX charged moves in the final build.
What I like about SFxT is how offensive your meter truly is in this game. Uppercut FADCs were a really neat mechanic in SF4 since you had to give up some of your meter to optimize a defensive situation but it would also double as an offensive tool. However, as SF4 has gone on it’s degenerated pretty much to only being a guessing game with uppercut FADC being a superior option to any other use of meter. Sure, Ryu had EX Fireballs that were pretty useful, but it was worth not throwing one to keep that pocket FADC and threaten with it. So some character would benefit from the mechanic moreso than others, since they didn’t need their EX moves or Super nearly as much. With SFxT, you can still tag cancel invincible moves and get that same defensive benefit and/or momentum shift from SF4, but the cost is much greater. The more you burn the meter, the more gimped your offense becomes due to the game simply having much more mechanics that make use of it, not just EX an d Super. So while SF4’s Ryu could land a U1 off of a defensive and/or mashed SRK and do a good chunk of damage at the cost of two bars and revenge meter, SFxT’s Ryu will need to burn all three of his bars to get a mashed SRK and Super. The higher cost adds an extra layer of hesitation and thinking before making a decision to burn the meter, and that really intrigues me.

I may be completely off-base due to how inactive I am here but I’m wondering how Renic got to be a part of Cross Assault, I know he’s from AZ but I don’t remember seeing him participating much in the AZ scene yet he gets a lot of recognition. Is it his YT content and/or past tourney standings?
Ty really loved living here so much that he settled down in a place in Gilbert and started making Youtube videos full time. Lately he’s been talking about how much he loves SF4 and how 3S has gotten stale. He also picked up Abel and made some videos on him, and Cross Assault noticed his highlights of the complex, calculated playstyle of said character.
tys dumb and his videos suck and his cat is creepy and his goatee needs to be shaved off and his cody is garbage and needs to play more hakan and he better do well on cross assault or everybody will know the only game he can play is long dead…and that game sucked too…
