Please tell me you remember SPEND ALL THE THINGS!
GG’s to everyone that I played yesterday in casuals and during the tournament…It was great to play (get bodied by) a variety of players, LOL. I was kind of feeling Wesker/Vergil/Dorm, but IDK…
Once again, so sorry about the stick issues that held up matches, etc, but I hope it is fixed now. It was great to play UMvC3 with so many good players these past few months, and I truly appreciate how much team Hazmat does for the AZ MvC3 community. It was a great experience, and if I continue to play this game, it would be nice to play everyone again someday… Also, congrats to the winners/top16 in both games and keep being GDLK (both the players and team HazMat) <3
Spiteful, try using this as a starting point if you’re gonna play Morrigan. I’m sure you can optimize it a lot more.

Honestly, Morrigan seems like the flavor of the month. I’ve already seen people calling for a nerf on her meter gain in that shadow mode.
Thanks for the ideas guys.
So I think the options I’m going to practice are
switching Doom with Morrigan, not sure about order.
Keeping current team but switching the place of Wesker and Vergil
or dropping doom for Akuma, where I would likely put as anchor.
Bumping Diego’s Post.
uh oh, looks like luey just got lucky, blanka confirmed for sf x tek for the ps vita version, along with cody, elena, guy, sakura and dudley. we knew that cody and guy were gonna be DLC, so im sure blanka will be as well for all consoles.
Dana got lucky too. I am not down with having to deal with Dudley-Rolento or Dudley-Heihachi.
As far as Diego’s query about his team goes, what are you looking for when you say you want to change your team? Did you feel like your performance Saturday was hindered by a certain character? Are you bored with one of the three? From your post you seemed satisfied with your team, and since I haven’t seen you play that much it’s difficult to identify your weaknesses. The standard, generic answer is that Frank West is a deciding factor in your team, and by proxy Nemesis is the heart and Dormammu is just there to mitigate any weaknesses and serve as a competent anchor. Your gameplan at the start of the match is to land a hit with Nemesis by doing the same thing until it works, minus the occasional command grab mixup. From there it branches off on whether or not you succeed. If you did indeed land that hit, you level up Frank West or go for a kill and then you can place your odds pretty high on being able to win. If you did not land the hit and Nemesis dies, you stumble around until you see an opportunity switch out to use Dorm + Shopping Cart. Frank then becomes the anchor of your team and the weakest link. Your team, barring any wild FW comebacks, essentially becomes point-point-assist. Your biggest counter is when someone identifies that the threat isn’t Frank West, but the vehicle in which you level him up, which is Nemesis. So I think the absolute worst scenario for your team would be if someone were to kill Nemesis (Preferably in one combo, might even be worth x-factoring on) land a hit on Level 1 Frank, snap him out to deny XF3 Dorm and mix up Dorm as he comes in (and definitely burn xfactor to kill if they have it), leaving level 1 Frank as anchor. So your question of whether or not to change your team order is really not that much of a question at all, because the only other viable (yet still less effective) order, Nemesis-Dorm-Frank, is what you already default to mid-match if your plan A doesn’t work.
Is it wrong for me to be mad salty that Karin probably won’t be in SFxT? Fuck Elena
Never…playing…dudley…again. Dudley would have to be super sick if he was a dlc for me to pick him over Steve. Steve has all his shit buffed up and better.

nope. karin is badass. her, sodom, and mika need to make a comeback
Steve looks sick. Hopefully him and Dudley are strong characters. Team boxer! fuck Balrog
Karin was my main in Alpha 3, I’m just a little mad for the somewhat lack of Alpha series love. I don’t consider Guy/Cody Alpha characters either.
All I know is, If I can get in for a high low game using Rolento and tag cancels, Dudley will be sweet. I can only imagine how much he can juggle in that engine. I also think tag canceling with machine gun blow is going to be good considering how much blockstun/hitstun it causes.
edit: ! I like how Crack Fiend confirmed my assumptions about Heihachi playing a lot like Dudley but better.
F-all that, Abel can do step kick into chain combo/launcher AND hit confirm his standing light kick to standing fierce punch, launcher. Oh, and he’s also now Urien apparently: (Skip to 3:48)

im not impressed with abel. stepkick doesnt mean anything anymore. as long as your character has a long range attack for footsie battles, youll get a combo off a wiff punish from far… Also, we got dash cancels off special charge that can result in similar fashion, but maybe a little slower(or faster, who knoes) not only that, lots of characters can repeat wall bounce, and not worry about a charge.
to be fair tho, he has a manual launch(c.fierce) that does prove useful in this game since it can lead to much better tag combos for better damage and give the opponent less regen health as opposed to doing universal launch(granted you spend a meter for a tag combo after manual launch
steve is looking so sick. Those stances are awesome. Can’t wait to rock team boxer.
Thank you for this. It’s really hard for me to analyze my own gameplay, so I never really noticed some of these things. Something I was worrying about with my team was the random factor of Frank. If I level him up, usually we’re A-Okay, but if he stays stuck at Level 1 I tend to get screwed in the end game. I love that gambling factor, but at the same time it’s kind of a hindrance. What I kind of want is a little bit more… consistency, maybe? Pretty much the question has become, should I drop Frank or not?
Shopping Cart is cool, Level 3 and above is cool, Dead Rising is cool, but I find myself wanting to experiment with other things. After reading Wall-Of-Text and thinking about it, I kind of want to replace Frank. But now the question becomes with who? I’ve been really wanting to play Dr. Strange but I really worry about the Team Synergy there (I love Nemesis and Dormammu team, so I want to keep both of them). Beam assist would be good for both Dorm and Nemmy, but I don’t want Strange to be a hindrance with some secret hidden drawback.
And when I play my time, I try to have a semblance of balance – Nemesis is like the slow tank, Frank is pretty much the mid character, and Dormammu is like a keep away character with a tiny bit of rushdown in there, so whoever I replace Frank with should probably be able to work at close range and be mid to fast speed.
Are there any suggestions for who I should replace Frank with?
tl;dr - Frank is a bit of a random factor and I want to replace him with somebody similar or that has good synergy with Nemmy/Dorm
How about Viewtiful Joe? Deadpool? Iron Fist? Spiderman? Haggar? Just some quirky/uncommon characters to try. Other easier choices to work with would be Wesker, Wolverine, Akuma, etc. that can be interchangeable in position anywhere on your team.
Games tonight 8pm till 1pm. Bring sticks, setups, and yourselves! All welcome.
PLEASE DO NOT
PLEASE DO NOT
-Bring trash and leave it on the floor. I don’t care my house is messy at times, this is insulting when you bring fast food or something and I see it on the floor or anywhere not the garbage.
-Use anything without permission. My roommate said he saw someone use his bong. I didn’t know and nobody asked me or him. This is basic, let’s not be children.
With that said bring on the games!
