AZ Thread. hAZbats start this saturday! 1/21. Check First posts

Thing #1. Won’t be around much for the next couple months. This is the time of year where I got my day job plus my two drumlines and working at the ren fair. Gonna try to hit up casuals at Armondo’s every once in awhile…especially since my box just red ringed =(
Thing #2. Having a huge party for my 30th b-day this weekend! Would be cool to see some of you guys there, sent out some invites on FB. Its in Mesa so its a bit of a trek for you westsiders but it’d still be cool to see my AZFGC homies there. There won’t be any gaming there, but there will be beer pong and gigantic jenga! Hit me up on the FB if you’re interested in going.

Hope to see some of you guys this weekend, otherwise in a couple months!
FLASH KICK!

He’s probably free as well, hope to see him soon

I think it’s pretty even as far as east and west KOF players.(Unless I don’t know where the East/West divide is).

When have we ever had a tournament that someone wasn’t at least a little butthurt?

Have a good drumline season, man! Time sure has flown, feels like you did the same thing very recently.

Speaking of time flying, I was bored on Sunday night and watched the videos from like August of last year of Haz’s early stream and the beginnings of MvC3. The hAZmat stream has come a long way since then, too! Good shit, guys.

People get mad when they lose, sure, but forming the team is where the drama happens. I think when you play in a tournament, you win or you lose and that’s decided by you and your opponent, but when you form teams you as a player are placed under the scrutiny of the team and everyone who has an opinion on what the team should be. So if the result isn’t favorable, rather than it being on you for losing, it seems like everyone is ganging up on you and it becomes a lot more personal and outside if your control. Especially if your pride or ego is hurt in the process. I guarantee this will happen if we do something like this.

Haha!

If shots are involved only bakon vodka can settle this.

Or Italian Sausage flavored drinks!

…I’m posting a lot today. Maybe one day I’ll have an entire page in the AZ thread with spinning jump H’s.

Juice is on the east side. I’m on the east side. Kensou is on the east side.

So can I get a roll call for people who are going to play SFxT when it comes out? I get a feeling it’ll go the wayside once it comes out just due to the strong interest already with AE and UMVC3; our community has never been able to sustain high interest in +2 games for very long (people will play the off-shoots in pockets, but mass appeal usually stays with the 1-2 core games).

Also on a side note, not saying I am but, IF I were to pick up UMVC3 (huge if, not going to happen, can’t let myself get swept up by the hype) I think my team would be Zero/Doom and either Spencer or Skrull. I have no idea if those teams have synergy, they just sound like characters I could handle.

I’m going to try it when it comes out, but I’m not expecting too much. I’ll gladly get into it if it seems like the scene for it’s going to be around longer than just a few months.

I foresee AE dying real quick when SfxT comes out so you better be ready to be lonely

Anyone got an xbox 360 they want to sell? Mine has completely died. :frowning:

Damn, Scott has one bad tourney in like the entirety of Marvel 3 and he doesnt even get an honorable mention? DAYUMMM!

Thanks.

Ps. I only respect Doom play if they use the Rocks assist!

If you could pick any of the “best” partners for Zero, they would be: Dante, Doom, Vergil, and Taskmaster. Honorable mentions are Magneto and Sentinel. So yes, that team would be badass and they do indeed have synergy.

I predict that SFxT will replace AE. The games seem similar enough on the outside, and it’s less of a leap for AE to SFxT than it is for AE to Marvel. Honestly, it seems like everyone will play two of the three games: AE, Marvel, or SFxT. I doubt we’ll get any SFxT exclusive people who don’t play AE or Marvel. But, as time goes on, AE numbers will drop and SFxT will probably replace it. I’d give AE another year or so.

Sfxt is gonna be huge. It’s nothing like sf4, I predict sf4 getting smaller tho, possibly mvc3 too. We can’t sustain more than 2 big games cuz there’s only 2 big games available. Plus you gotta factor tekken fans that are curious. I thought the game was extremely fun, I’m definitely getting it

I’m definitely going to be playing SFxT. What I’m really curious to see is if the 2v2 matches will get any serious tournament consideration. I don’t really remember seeing any 4 player MK tournaments but I think SFxT might actually see some team tournaments. I think it’d have potential for some really hype moments on the hAZmat stream too! Who doesn’t want to see team grumpy old men reunited?!

4 player will be big I think. Mk9 4p didn’t take off cuz the game wasn’t balanced for it… sfxt is. So theoretically, sfxt can add a possible extra tourney sometimes. I expect it to be pretty popular

that’s the assist I use! =D

Rocks to the end baby!

hahahahahhahahahah…not all the time…

Now that one of my mains is in (two if you count my Soul Calibur main), I will probably give it a shot. Although I don’t think I’ll stick with it based on what I’ve seen. It looks too much like Marvel to me, which is not my style (although fun to watch). Hopefully I’m wrong, because it would be nice to play a Capcom fighter at a competitive level.

It also depends on how much I get into SC5 and how many gatherings have both games. I don’t really foresee many Capcom gatherings having SC5 (and vice-versa), which definitely makes me less inclined to play SFxT seriously. None of the local Tekken-exclusive players I’ve talked to are looking to play SFxT, so I wouldn’t expect much from that scene (not that it’s a big scene in AZ).
