Axis Gaming is proud to announce that we will be hosting a series of tournaments in 2008 at a rented out venue somewhere in the East Bay (which one will be depending on how much of a response we get.)
We are currently still in negotiations with sponsors and working out our logistics but we plan on offering ~3 games which we will decide on based on player votes/opinions. There will be food, drinks, music and side games for people out of the tournament.
Prizes we are considering (these depend on our sponsors at the time being, but this would just be to give you an idea of what were talking about) include cash/ custom arcade sticks / gaming swag such as games and next gen consoles / and a grand prize of a big screen hdtv.
If you would be interested in attending such an event please post in this thread; please only do so if you would be willing to attend an event that will be located in the San Ramon / Walnut Creek area.

oh and by the way, if there is not a big enough response from people who want to participate in this event…all your prizes and cash will go to a Halo 3 tournament…please dont let that happen!
I’m really hoping it’s CVS2 and not the original Street Fighter 2…
This sounds like a great idea, assuming it’s organized well enough to make it worth it for us South Bay and other non-East Bay folks to travel out there on a consistent basis.
But, definitely don’t let anything go to Halo.

for all the 2d games make sure they are played on sdtv’s to help against lag and make sure they are played on their correct console like mvc2 on dreamcast.

Although GZR Nights! are cool (check thread “GZR Nights!” thread for more info:wgrin:) I really wouldn’t mind having something else out here because I really :lovin: tournaments and get together over here. that would be fantastic if it was somewhere close to union city but I doubt it.
as far as the 3 games for me in order Smash bros. Melee, Virtua Fighter 5, Call of Duty 4 (I know it’s not a fighting game but I would really like to see a tourny for this game b/c I think it’s the best multiplayer game of the year and if you could get it 4 vs 4 that would be extraordinary and I would have a team ready to go instantly).
I am down for basically every game though like Guilty Gear:AC, Tekken 5 DR, Capcom vs SNK 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and ext. but those 3 are my personal favorites at the moment.
